11.A reinforced concrete rectangular section 275 mm wide and 500mm overall
depth is reinforced with 3 bars of 20 mm diameter at an effective cover of 50
mm on the tension side the beam is designed with M15 grade concrete and
HYSD bar. Determine the allowable bending moment and the stresses
developed in steel and concrete under the moment .use working stress
method.
12.The RCC beam of rectangular section is to be deigned to resist a bending
moment of 65KNm. Assuming the width of the beam is 0.3 times of the
effective depth. Determine the dimension of the beam and the area of the
tension reinforcement of the balanced section. Adopt M25 grade of concrete
and Fe 250 grade of steel.
13.A singly reinforced concrete beam is of width 400mm and effective depth
615mm. It is reinforced with 8 nos. 20 mm mild steel bar. Assuming M25
concrete, determine its moment of resistance according to the working stress
method. Determine also the stress in the steel when the beam is subjected to
the above moment.
14.A singly reinforced concrete beam has an effective span of 4m and width
250mm and an overall depth of 550mm. the beam is reinforced with 3 bars
of 10 mm diameter fe 415 High Yield Strength Deformed bar at an effective
depth of 500mm the self weight of the beam is 4 KN/m . Calculate the
maximum Permissible Live load. Assume M20 grade of concrete.
15.The RCC beam of rectangular section is to be deigned to resist a bending
moment of 65KNm. Assuming the width of the beam is half of the effective
depth. Determine the dimension of the beam and the area of the tension
reinforcement of the balanced section. Adopt M20 grade of concrete and Fe
415 grade of steel.
