Getting Started
Start TeamCenter VisMockup By Selecting 'Teamcenter VisMockup' from the desktop Icon.
or
'Programs Æ UGS Teamcenter Æ Teamcenter Visualization Æ Teamcenter VisMockup'
from the Start Menu.

Select File Æ Open from the main menu and select:
C:\Program Files\UGS\Teamcenter 2005 SR1\Visualization\Examples\3D\fishing_reel.jt

Selecting Button Bars
Right Click on the Grey menu bar will display
this list of button options.

Left Click on the selection to toggle its display.

A good selection would include:

• File
• Printing
• 3D Navigation
• 3D Selection Filter
• 3D Standard Views
(scroll down the list)
• Project Workspace
• Navigator

You can only toggle one item at a time

The Buttons:
3D Standard Views

Up and Down Arrows spin the part over the top. Tumbles.
Left and Right Arrows spin the part around. Spins.
Circle Arrows rotate the part around. Clock.
The Cube with a trihedron snaps to an orientation. –Z takes you to the default view

Selecting View Æ Standard Views from the


Main Menu allows for additional orientations.

3D Navigation

The Eye zooms the part so it takes the full screen.


The Magnifying Glass zooms into a selected region.
The Cross Hairs centers the part on a selected spot
The Circle Arrows rotates the part on the X, Y and Z axis.
The Plus Arrows pans the part on the screen
The Up/Down Arrows zooms in and out.

The Navigation selection from the Main Menu


provides the same functionality as the 3D
Navigation button bar.

Project Workspace
The project workspace allows you to

• Click the plus (+) to expand the tree


• Click the minus (-) to collapse the tree
• Click in the box (√) to display the assembly
• Click on the part's name to select

Notice that after displaying the entire assembly, the structures of the subassemblies are
expanded. Parts can be turned on and off.

Fly to Part

Selecting a part in an assembly then 'Right-Clicking' allows you to select "Fly to Part"…

Fly to Part finds and zooms to the selected part on the screen.

Measuring
Extent
The 'Extent' of a part tells give you it's over all size.

1. Select the part

2. Right Click on the part
3. Select Properties

Single Measures
Length and Diameter

1. Select Tools
2. Measurement
3. The Measurement menu appears

Measure Icon Buttons

• The 'Point' button allows for selecting arbitrary points on the part
• The 'Vertex' button selects the corner
• The 'Edge' button selects an edge
• The 'Part' button selects the entire part

Measurement 'Type'

• Single measures the selected Item


• Double measures between selected Items

Mark-up

Open 1L24-010203-B1 from PDV's TRAININGBUCK.

Select Tools Æ Markup from the Main Menu


The Markup Menu Pick will appear.

Creating something 'Faxable'

Mark-up the image

Select Actions Æ Outline Capture Æ Current 3D Window

The result will be an outline of the image that you can print and fax.

You can save outline to you hard drive

Select File then


Export Combined Layers from the
Main Menu

Select File
Then Save
to save the
outline to
your hard
disk.

The resulting file can then be inserted into an e-mail and sent out.

Part Manufacturing Information (PMI)

Search for 1L24-7826086-A in the TRAININGBUCK

Select the top Assembly

The reinforcement bar should open in VisMockup.

Select Tools Æ PMI from the main menu.

From the PMI Menu
Select 'Filter Configuration'

Set Filter

Select Toggle Single Entity Mode from the PMI menu.

Select an entity on the part. The part will re-orientate and the PMI associated with the part will
display.

Select Toggle Multiple Entity Mode from the main menu.

Click on the part and all the part's PMI will display.

Select the PMI tab from the Project Workspace

The part's PMI will be display

Note: The type and quality of PMI displayed will vary from part to part.

Compare

Search for Master Package number 1L24-010103

Open MP-1L24-010103-B1

Open MP-1L24-010103-B1 (ROOF)

Open the part in VisMockup

Go Back to PDV

Select MP-1L24-010103-G1 (MOONROOF ROOF) and select Insert

Open the second part in VisMockup

Select ToolsÆComparison from the Main
Menu.

The 'Comparison' menu option will display.

Select the two parts to display.

Highlight a part in the Project workspace then select Comparison Æ 'Part Group 1' Æ Set

Highlight the other part in the Project Workspace then select Comparison Æ Part Group 2 Æ Set

Select Comparison Æ Compare Æ Tricolor Mapping from the Main Menu

What is unique to Part Group 1 will display in Red


What is unique to Part Group 2 will display in Green
What is common between the two part groups will display in Blue
