January practice changes include:

1) A one-week start delay this month. We encourage everyone to get tested for
covid before returning to Frostbite practices following the holiday/new year
break.
2) Some practice location changes within the Saint Paul RiverCentre.
3) Designating only certain days for a new Frostbite's very first practice, to get
a skating introduction with one-on-one or small group coaching. These intro
practices are marked below with ** (They can attend and fully participate in all
practices after their first one)

Thurs 1/6 & Sun 1/9 in-person practices CANCELED

Thurs 1/13, 6-7:30pm - Exhibit Hall A **
Sun 1/16, 2-3:45pm - Meeting Rooms 10-12 (will be off-skates but still bring
ALL your derby gear, as well as water bottle and athletic shoes)
Thurs 1/20, 6-7:30pm - Exhibit Hall A **
Sun 1/23, 2-3:45pm - Exhibit Hall A
Thurs 1/27, 6-7:30pm - Exhibit Hall A
Sun 1/30, 2-3:45pm - Exhibit Hall A

Covid safety reminders:

At all times, masks are required at our practice space for skaters,
coaches, and parents. The only exception to this is for distanced, brief
water breaks.
Stay home if you're ill (even if it seems to be a simple cold). If you or a
household member has been sick, we encourage you to get tested before
returning to practice.
Anyone who's eligible and has no medical contraindications, go get your
vaccinations and boosters!
We understand that gathering to participate in a sport / group activity
carries some inherent risk. Please reach out to Shug/Poysen anytime if
you'd like to talk through concerns.

Roster Info & Jerseys:

For Frostbites excited to skate in any scrimmage/bout (whether none-, light-, or

full-contact play... so basically everybody, right?), please be sure to:fill out this

We'll need to confirm who hasn't ordered a Frostbite jersey yet and would like
to, so that MNRD can cover $15 of that cost for you. The sample pack will be
available at January practices, so Frostbites can try on jerseys in different sizes/
styles.

Important -- Coming Down the Pipeline:

 Covid vaccination requirements or regular testing will be required for
Frostbite participation, effective in February. Designated coaches will
confirm proof of vaccination throughout practices in January. More
specifics will be shared within the next month as well.
As season bouts, events, and promotions return, so do opportunities for
capturing and sharing the excitement of those experiences. Parents/
guardians, please expect in the near future to be presented with a Media
Release/Consent Form to review and sign.
The derby rules quiz I started creating last month still is in progress.

I'm working on adapting a better solution for email communications, that
also will integrate a calendar, links, documents landing page, FAQ, etc. It's
gonna be super great!
