Interactive Project-based program

We believe in project-based learning

Program Overview
We have come up with a unique program that involves intensive project-based learning and
proper course structure which involves learning concepts from scratch to an advanced level.
This is the initial phase of the program and thus a small pool of competent students have been
manually chosen for this opportunity.

The program is divided into three uniquely curated stages which make sure that the student has
a comprehensive learning experience.

Program Stages
Stage 1: Fast track learning

● Structures and concise understanding of topics related to project with help from
mentors
● A proper timeline is given for each task and assistance is provided

Stage 2: Supportive Immediate Application

● Group-based / Individual work on small problem statements that involve thorough

learning and proactive experience with hidden concepts.

Stage 3: PSEUDO INTERN

● In this stage, students work on real-world problems which they would be working on in
the research centers/project organizations if they bagged the internship.

Stage 4: Internship Opportunity

● Based on the performance in the previous three stages, a leaderboard will be maintained,
and the student will be offered an internship opportunity.

Current program Details

The current program involves getting hands-on experience with
ROS. The Robot Operating System (ROS) is a set of software
libraries and tools that help you build robot applications.

Particular Details
❖ WEEK 1
➢ Dual booting with Ubuntu 18.04 (necessary for
ROS)
➢ ROS installations and basic directory structure
➢ PX4 SITL ( PX4 is used in a wide range of use-cases, from consumer drones to
industrial applications. )
➢ Exploring PX4 - tweak and play
➢ Going through documentation and getting started
➢ Understanding Publisher and Subscriber using Quadcopter
➢ Series of sessions involving lectures from professors, Mentors, and future scope
of ROS.
➢ Getting started with Gazebo
❖ WEEK 2
➢ Getting started with generating small trajectories for drone
➢ Hands-on experience with C/C++/Python code stack
➢ Sharing the GitHub repo code
➢ Generating 8 shaped trajectories
➢ Working with MAVROS
❖ WEEK 3
➢ Getting started with the entire code stack
➢ Learning sensors and how they work
➢ Octomaps
➢ SLAM (simultaneous localization and mapping)
➢ Fast planner

Prerequisites :

● Familiarity with basic C/C++/Python coding

● Ubuntu (not necessary)
● A list of resources will be given before the start of the program to get you engaged with
the tasks beforehand and get you into the momentum of learning.

Internship opportunity
Based on the performance in the stages, Competent and capable students will be chosen for the
internship. They will be working with students at RRC(Robotics Research Center, IIIT-H) on
ongoing projects. These projects involve the intensive use of ROS. However, those who couldn't
get selected will be a part of our community. We will be recommending them for further such
opportunities directly.

Program Fees:

₹ 1299/-
