Artist by Night Documentary

Write a reflection paper on the connection of this documentary to your dream and future
career.

In my personal opinion, the documentary is something that I can truly relate with.
During my childhood years, singing has always been my talent. I was somehow
recognized by people because of this passion. For me, singing is not just about
showcasing to people my talent, but it is also about expressing my feelings and
providing art to people. As a young adult, I highly regard this undertaking as a career I
wish to pursue in my college years. However, my parents did not allow me to do so.
My passion for music never stops, the same as the people included in the
documentary I also pursue other tracks of profession considering the existing barriers.
But I best believe that I can always pursue this passion afterwards like them. I can still
sing and provide entertainment and inspiration to people. My life does not stop just
because I opted to choose practicality, I can still continue my passion regardless of the
age I enter. Because at the end of the day, no person has automatically discovered that
their existing job is where they are really good at, and that specific job is what they
really wanted to do. It is a matter of experience and opportunity.

National Artist Documentary

Write a reflection paper on the connection of professionalism and excellence.

Professionalism and excellence are factors that contribute to a person’s success

in life. Considering the expectations thrown by the society, the unending shift of
demands, and uncontrollable circumstances, I can say that being professional and
excellent in the things you do is hard to achieve. However, as I have watched the
National Artist Documentary, I realized that people are still out there living their lives as
if they are designed or designated to perform or execute the things they wanted to do
regardless of the existing complications.
Professionalism can be based on the person's commitment in abiding by the
existing set of norms, code of conduct, or any other attributes that recognize behavior in
a specific field of endeavor. Relating professionalism to the people included in the given
documentary, first is Dr. Moel Diaz of Datu's Tribe who is a medical doctor who is also a
musician, a lawyer who is also a writer, a teacher who is also an actress, and an
advertising executive, Atty. Nicolas Pichay who practices litigation matters and also a
Palanca Hall of Fame awardee, teacher Anna Deroca who is likewise a theater and film
actress, and Isa Garcia whose day job is in an ad agency and plays bass for the indie
band Taken by Cars after office hours. The mentioned names are said to have various
jobs at the same time. But regardless of the much demanding time needed to allot for
work, they still manage to perform their everyday tasks beyond the required
performance. Some of the mentioned names are more inclined into music or art but
never failed to fulfill their duties and responsibilities as a doctor, lawyer, teacher, and as
a corporate agent. On the other hand, based on the professions mentioned, we can
conclude that each of them plays an essential role in the economy, therefore, they are
expected to be excellent in their fields because of the impact they provide. Excellency is
not just about being well known in a specific field, but it is the ability to perform well and
influence others.
