MASTER PERSONAL USER MANUAL

 How do you prefer to receive positive feedback? What really makes you feel recognized?
(i.e. slack message from my manager, DM from other team members, mass company
shoutouts, slack call, etc.)
 Any recognition is greatly appreciated, especially as I pave the path for this
role.
 Quick slack messages are great because they  give in-moment feedback.

 How frequently would you prefer to spend facetime with your manager/week and what’s the
breakdown?
 The weekly 1:1 is sufficient to talk over tasks, goals, and questions. I see you
on other calls throughout the week (culture, BPO, etc.)

 As of now, how would you prefer to allocate your weekly 1:1 time with your manager? What
would make the biggest impact for you to discuss?
 As a general rule of thumb, of course it may change as priorities change, this
is how I would like to spend my 1:1 time with my manager:
 10% Personal chat (talk about weekends, food, activities, etc.)
 30% Feedback on my week, tasks, updates
 20% Quick check in on 15-Five Goals from Week
 40% Feedback Loop with Manager (how are we pacing? On a small and
large scale? How does asana look? Clarify anything else, etc.)

 When do I like other team members to approach me and how?

 I like when other team members slack for anything quick and/or put time on
the calendar as well, especially if it is something bigger. I like when team
members value my other work and never pressure me to have things done for
them.

 How do I manage stress + pressure?

 I typically make a list of priorities to clear my head. Then check to see what
can be delegated and lastly, notify anyone that needs to be when something is
going to have to wait till next day.

 How do I go about building relationships?

 I enjoy meeting new people personally and professionally, so when building
relationships, I like to get to know both sides of a person. I can do this over
both slack and google meetings, which further strengthens our ability to work
together.

 What are my biggest areas of growth (personally and professionally)?

 Personally, I want to get better at setting boundaries. This requires the right
type of communication with the different people I have in my life. This is to
achieve a balance between other’s needs and myself so I can properly perform
as an individual, with my family/friends/significant other, and in my teams.
Professionally, I want to focus on creativity skills that I use in problem solving
and new approaches. This can be used in a variety of areas like streamlining
culture, in DEI committees, and employee experience.

 How do I handle conflict?

 I always try to understand where the other person or group is coming from or
how they may see things differently. Then look to see if the conflict comes
from content (ideas, values, beliefs) or relational (positions, power,
relationships). Understanding this allows me to pinpoint  source (s) and then
communicate effectively to create a change or solution.

 On a scale of 1-10, how well do you think you receive negative feedback? How do you like to
receive negative feedback?
 I would say I am an 8. I am always open to improving and learning
continuously, so I enjoy receiving all types of feedback. Sometimes if the
feedback is brief or short, then I need to be better about asking for more
information or clarification so I can fix the thing the first time. I like to receive
negative feedback at the moment so I can fix the task, challenge, or item, while
it is fresh in my mind.

 What kind of people do you surround yourself with?

 I like to surround myself with people who care about others. Coming from
retail management, I was always considered a servant leader, because I truly
want what is fair and best for everyone. Aside from that, I enjoy people who
are different from me and can bring all sorts of stories, humor, and ideas.

 What frustrates you?

 Something that frustrates me in my personal life, professionally, and even
academically, is when others do not give me credit for things I have knowledge
in. This can range from the random information I gained from a TV show I
binged, to a variety of academic studies and expertise, and even previous
professional experiences and achievements like running a multi-million dollar
store, all while maintaining a strong team dynamic and smooth operations.
Everyone has a different life experience so I do not like to see people’s
experiences downplayed or devalued.
