Subject: Suggestion for special Benefits ton the Scheduled Area of States.

Refer to the subject matter, we have to state that as per website of ‘SFAC’. There
is list of Industrially Backward Districts, which have been taken from planning
commission, Government of India. Accordingly in Gujarat state the new projects
coming in only 3 Districts out of 25 Districts namely Dahod, Godhra and Dangs are
qualified.

In fact in the scheme of SFAC, assistance is given to Hi-tech farming and

Agro base projects of Cold chain, Valve addition, Ripening chambers, Poly house
etc. which are supporting to the farmers for marketing of their produces and to
earn good prices of their produces.

Now, as a matter of fact, following departments of Government of India

give grant subsidy to the Hi-tech Agriculture, Post harvest infrastructure and Food
processing industries, Cold chain infrastructure etc.

(1) Ministry of Agriculture

(a) National Horticulture Mission
(b) National Horticulture Board

(2) Ministry of Food Processing Industries

In all three schemes, The Patens of Assistance is reproduced below.

(i) Scheme reflects to the Technology Up gradation / Establishment /
Modernization of Food Processing Industries.

ASSISTANCE & ELIGIBILITY UNDER THE SCHEME

(i) The scheme will provide 25% of the Cost of Plant & Machinery and
Technical civil works subject to a maximum of Rs. 50 lakhs in general
area and 33% up to Rs. 75 lakhs in difficult areas (Jammu & Kashmir,
Himachal Pradesh, Sikkim, North-Eastern states, Andaman & Nikobar,
Lakshadweep) and Integrated Tribal Development project (ITDP) areas.

So, In all the above 3 Central Governments schemes. In Difficult Areas-

Integrated Tribal Development Project (ITDP) areas have been taken.

We enclose herewith the I.T.D.P areas of Gujarat States.

So, now when projects in the I.T.D.P areas of various States in NHM,
NHB, Ministry of Food Processing are getting special Assistances, SFAC
should also consider the same criteria for area based special Assistance.
By doing this, S.F.A.C shall be at par with schemes of NHM, NHB and
MOFPI. So, SFAC shall contribute at large in development of Integrated
Tribal Development Areas of various States.
