FSS Biography

I am John Michael A. Calad, JM for

short. I was born on November 29, 1998.
I have an older brother and I am the
youngest among the children of Elvira
Calad and John Calad. I live in Santiago
City, Isabela where I also studied from
Kindergarten up to College. I studied at
Northeastern College with a degree of
Bachelor of Science in Business
Administration major in Financial
Management. I decided to pursue a
diploma in PBTE because a close friend
of mine who is a teacher influenced me
and as time goes by, I also became
interested in becoming a licensed
professional teacher and teaching here
in our community someday. That’s why now, I am studying at my dream school the
Polytechnic University of the Philippines and I feel very happy about it. I chose PUP
because here, the education is affordable without compromising the quality of it. PUP
also has a good reputation, graduates are performing best in their respective fields. I am
certain that finishing this program and passing the LET will become my ticket to a better
tomorrow. Working while studying is a challenge for me because I had to work from
8:00 AM to 5:00 PM from Monday to Friday and I have a class every night of Monday
and Wednesday and the whole day every Saturday. It was kind of tiring but I understand
because life is not just a bed of roses, hardships are everywhere. I have come to
believe in the study of Dr. Angela Lee Duckworth that the main factor to define success
is GRIT. Grit is passion and perspective for very long-term goals. Grit is stamina. Grit is
sticking with your future, day in and day out, not just for the week, not just for the month,
but for years and working really hard to make that future reality.
