Read Module 2 and answer the following questions based on your own understanding of your readings:
1. What is the unique characteristic of a hypothetico- deductive approach of research as
compared to the other scientific approaches? Hypothetic deductive method has a unique characteristic than other scientific method, its unique characteristic is you where be able to build a scientific method that can help you to have a quality output or result that you obtain through experimentation and observation, and through the data that you’ve gathered you can predict either to verify or disprove it. 2. What is the difference between deductive reasoning and inductive reasoning? Deductive reasoning it starts with general statement and study and examines the possible outcome to know what specific information is accurate and gives conclusion. On the other hand, inductive reasoning is opposite to deductive reasoning, it requires or uses specified data and generalizes things with a broad area and gives conclusion that is based on the data. 3. In what type of research studies do deductive processes work? How about with inductive processes? Deductive reasoning is useful for qualitative and quantitative while inductive reasoning is useful for exploratory and qualitative research. 4. Why is it necessary to know the different viewpoints of research? How does it affect the nature of your research? Each viewpoint plays a big role during the research process because if the other area on your research or data is don’t have enough data or don’t have efficiency and accuracy when it comes to its data then there is a high probability your research will fail. In the nature of research it affects how you use it and also the process and there is unbalance attention. 5. How does time element affect the quality of research output? When research needs more time to spend in order to have a good or quality output but you only have limited time it can affect to the output of the research and even to the data you’ve gather is not enough to prove that the research has a reliable data. That’s how time can affect the quality of research output. 6. Discuss the most important differences between positivism and constructionism. Positivism use deductive reasoning that use generalization to have a specific data and gets their conclusion, they usually tend to undergo research to understand the world. On the other hand, Constructionism do not undergo any form of research activities but they rely on their own knowledge they construct things through their knowledge and through the knowledge of other people and by understanding their rules that is being implemented they were able to find the truth.
