HEALTH
I. Objectives
At the end of the lesson, the pupils should be able to:
a. recognize the different skills to manage mental, emotional social
problem;
b. cite the importance of managing our health;
c. answer the given question.

A. Motivation
Before we start our lesson I would
like to show you a picture.

These are the social, mental and
emotional problems that we need
to manage.

1. Social anxiety or social


phobia- this is a common
mental disorders.
 Anxiety – this refers
to strong nervousness.
The effect of having a social anxiety is
having a low self-esteem, poor social
skills such as communicating to others or
joining school activities.

2. Mood swings- rapidly


changing of behavior. This
can be develop independence
and before puberty because of
their hormonal changes
The effects of mood swings are
displaying sad feelings, sleep disturbance,
poor in social relationship, being tired,
easily irritated and angry.

3. Teasing and Bullying-


children usually experiencing
bullying and teasing at school,
home or streets. To those
children who is being bullied
their behavior might change,
they will have unhealthy
relationship with other people,
and their school and home
activities are affected. (answer depends to the children)
What are you going to do if someone is
bullying you?

The best thing to do when someone is


bullying are:
- You shouldn’t respond to them.
- Do not retaliate against them.

4. Cyberbullying – this happens


when somebody threatens and
embarrass you using
electronic devices.
The effects of cyberbullying is having
anxiety and sadness, fear and anger and
embarrassment.

To avoid the cyberbullying you


shouldn’t:
- Post your personal information.
- Post someone’s personal
information.
- Inform your parents or teachers if
you receive a message do not
response right away.

5. Emotional and Physical


Abuse
 Emotional abuse- it
can be caused by
bullying.
 Physical abuse-this is
an intentional act of
causing physical injury
or trauma to someone.

self-esteem, depression or sadness and
poor school performance.
