Ito ay pangpitong modyul na pinamagatang “I Care for You and Me” na sinasaklaw
layunin:
Kilalanin ang ibat ibang paraan sa pag-iingat at kaligtasan sa social media;
Ipaliwanag ang kahalagaahan sa pagprotekta sa sarili at sa iba;

Introduction

Knowing one’s skills is important as it plays an integral role in strengthening decision-

making skills. It is important to work on something that makes you feel happy and productive.
Making a career decision is not an easy task. Gaining enough knowledge and information
about your skills will help you find a better career opportunity.
Choosing a career is a process that focuses on making decisions to help you manage
your future work and personal life in general. This means that choosing your career is related
to setting your future career directions anchored on the skills required in your chosen field of
study.

Let’s Try This

“SKILLS INDEED”

Write your answer in a piece of paper.

1. Look into the job opportunities in your community.

3
2. Write the job title in a sheet of paper.
3. Below the job title, write your answer to the following:
a. What educational qualification is required for the job?
b. What are the skills required for the job?

Example:

Job Title: Nurse

Educational Qualifications: Bachelor of Science in Nursing

Skills: 1. Speak and write clearly so people can understand.

2. Analyze ideas and understand new information.
3. Check how well one is doing and learning something.
4. Be aware of others’ reactions and understand the possible causes.
5. Look for ways to help people.

1. What did you feel after doing the activity?
2. What were your thoughts while doing the activity?
3. What insights have you gained from this activity?

Let’s Explore This

required of it?
2. Is there any change in your decision in your career choice? How?
3. What insights have you gained from this activity?

Keep in Mind

Lecturette

Often, we ask ourselves: “What are the skills that I am good at?” or “What do I want to
be in the future?” These simple questions that we are confronted with every day set the career
that we are going to take in the future.

5
Choosing a career involves looking into the different skills you possess that can be
shown in the activities which you enjoy doing. Focusing on the skills needed to attain one’s
career goal and finding joy in it makes it easier for one to do them.

The combination of both skills and knowledge can help align career goals with work
that will truly be rewarding and engaging. With these in mind, directions would be clearer and
attainment of goals are within reach and easier to be realized.

While you are still in school remember to study hard, practice good values, and
improve your skills because this will be your capital in searching for your career. Whatever
you behave today, will become the fruit of your desired career.

You Can Do It

“SEARCH AND TALK”

1. Look into the job opportunities in your community through career research.
You may consult your parent/s for further explanation.
2. Find someone in your community whose work is similar to your desired job. Use the
following questions as your guide:
a. What are the things that he/she liked doing when he/she was younger that
helped him /her achieve his/her chosen career?

4. What are the important insights that you have gained from this activity?
