4. A shepherd named Magnes living in Greece used to take his herd of sheep
and goats on a mountain for grazing. He always carried a stick to control his
herd. The stick had a small piece of iron attached to one end. One day, he had
to pull hard to free his stick from a rock on the mountain side. The rock was a
natural magnet and the stick got attracted to it. One of the important
