Course Reflection Instructions

Objective:
The course reflection assignment involves a team of 4 to 5 people preparing a strategic cost
analysis of a company, including a written paper and an oral presentation. The purpose of this
assignment is to solidify the concepts you have learned by delving a little deeper into topics of
particular interest to you. You will also learn how to work effectively as a team.
Description
The team picks which company to analyze. In the analysis, you can include any topics you
learned from this course. Some suggested topics:
 What is the company’s competitive strategy?
 Perform a SWOT analysis of the company.
 Analyze the company’s value chain, and make suggestions for improvements.
 Costing methods adopted by the company.
 Discuss ethical issues the company has faced and how the company resolved the issues.
In the beginning of the paper, please also include a brief introduction of the company you select.
Important dates:

- Find your teammates and let the instructor know who you want to work with no later than
Jan. 25. Otherwise, the instructor will assign you to teams.
- Submit your written paper and peer evaluation sheet on Blackboard no later than Mar. 01.
Only one person in your group needs to submit your written paper.
- Oral presentation should be made on Mar. 01 (remotely).

your teammates before your presentation in class. Students who are absent for the presentation
will receive a grade of zero.
