Instructions:
Your class will be divided into three. Each group should have
o Editor (EIC) who is accountable for all of the content of your newspaper;
o Managing Editor who will supervise the publication and determines the
importance of article;
o Editorial Page Editor who’s responsible for the editorial pages;
o 5 News Reporters who will collect information about news stories and write an
article;
o Chief Copy Editor who’s in charge of the news desk;
o Photo Editor/ Graphics Editor who will select the photos that the newspaper will
publish administer, the graphics and illustrations of your newspaper.
After assigning the designations of each members of the group, reporters should start
researching and collecting information.
When the reporters are done, they should start writing their news article.
News reporters will then copy read their own articles, write headlines and caption for the
photos (if applicable).
When done, the new articles will be passed to the graphic editor who will also be the one
who will decide on which photos match the news article (if applicable).
The graphic editor will now illustrate the newspaper and lay them out for printing.
Newspaper format:
o You will just submit a tabloid newspaper where the articles are published. You are free
to add editorial section if the EIC and Graphic Editor permits.

o The newspaper should be in a A4 paper, with the font size of 8 or 9 (headlines/titles can
be a bit bigger), and Arial as the font style.
o The staff of your newspaper (Organizational Chart) should be included in the Editorial
Section of your tabloid newspaper.
