I have a 2004 Citroen C2 in my workshop at them moment.

It has now burnt out 2 of my lexia interfaces

It will not start, dash board lights up, windows work and every thing else, fans do not though.

I can connect to the engine ECU using a generic scanner.

I am ge ng +11v at 3 of the K-line pins on the OBD2 port - I think this is what has killed my lexia interfaces

I have a ached my OBD2 port pin test data for you to look at.
And the wiring diagram from SEDRE for this vehicle for you to inspect.

Am I correct in thinking these K-Line voltages are too high?

Any ideas or informa on would be kindly received

Maybe the owner put a secondary diagnos g obd2 connector in other place. I already saw this an -stolen method.
The original obd connector is moved to other place, and on the original place connector put a fake obd connector to burn any tool.

The connector goes directly into the factory wiring loom and the engine K-line works fine.

Can you extend just the K-line and plug it in lexia port. Of course
connect 12+ and ground also. So that other wires are not connected.

Hi Threepot,
as i remember at physical level k-line is a pull-up to posi ve (with a resistance) and for transmi ng informa on diagnos c tool and ECU do connect the line to
nega ve with a transistor or equivalent component.

so when using a mul meter it is normal to read aprox. 12V on k-line pins !!!
don't know what broke your diag tool, but a safe way to detect any short on obd2 pins can be using a low power bulb (5-10W). (NOT tested properly, is just
an idea)

Put the bulb between ground (pins 4 and 5) and line to test, if line is ok (not shorted to posi ve) the bulb must stay off.

To check the bulb is fine, connect it to pin 16.

The idea is that the bulb will not light up thru pull-up and will light up when conected to pure +12V.

OBD2 pinout for PEUGEOT (for citroen probably is same but i can not confirm):
2 K-Line Heater and air-condi oner diagnos c
7 K-Line Engine and transmission diagnos c
10 K-Line Steering wheel module diagnos c
11 K-Line an -thie module, re pressure module, some other modules (for Peugeot 307,607,807) diagnos c
12 K-Line ABS diagnos c
13 K-Line Airbag dignos c
14 K-Line lock diagnos c

Hope this help a li le.

I will test to see how much current the K-lines are providing.

Very good idea sir!
