INTRODUCTION (OPENING REMARKS)
MASTER OF CEREMONY - Good afternoon brothers and sisters in
Christ! Today, we gather as one to witness the celebration of the
Sacrament of marriage of Ramel & Aileen as they answer God’s
call to a life of holiness and fidelity as husband and wife.

With joy in our hearts, let us lift them to the Lord and fervently pray
for them. Together with Pastor Ma. Gemma G. Santos and Pastor
Danilo C. Bagsican, our ministering pastors, let us rejoice with them
in celebrating the day which the Lord has made special for them.

MASTER OF CEREMONY
Please be seated. May I call on _________ for the Scripture

A reading from the book of Genesis 2:18-24

18 The Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will
make a helper suitable for him.”19 Now the Lord God had formed
out of the ground all the wild animals and all the birds in the sky. He
brought them to the man to see what he would name them; and
whatever the man called each living creature, that was its name. 20
So the man gave names to all the livestock, the birds in the sky and
all the wild animals. But for Adam no suitable helper was found. 21
So the Lord God caused the man to fall into a deep sleep; and while
he was sleeping, he took one of the man’s ribs and then closed up the
place with flesh. 22 Then the Lord God made a woman from the rib
he had taken out of the man, and he brought her to the man.
23 The man said,
“This is now bone of my bones
and flesh of my flesh;
she shall be called ‘woman,’
for she was taken out of man.”
24 That is why a man leaves his father and mother and is united to
his wife, and they become one flesh.

DECLARATION OF PURPOSE
MINISTER (Ptr. Ma. Gemma G. Santos)
We are gathered today in the presence of God Almighty to give
thanks for the gift of marriage and to bear witness the sacred union
of Ramel & Aileen. Marriage is the highest form of relationship that
can exist between a man and woman. It is a purified and ordained by
God, an act of worship and submission to the will of the creator.
On this occasion, let us therefore put to remembrance that it is our
Lord who has established and sanctified this holy covenant. It is
written that a man shall leave his home, cleave to his wife, and be
one flesh, to love, to honor and to keep each other, encouraging and
praying for the things of God.
Unto this blessed union, Zap and Hannah have now come before us
to be united. May we ask therefore the blessings of our Almighty God
be upon this day.
This honourable estate signifies the mystical union of Christ and His
church as illustrated by St. Paul in Ephesians 5:22-32. So, let all the
people who are present here know that we are now having a
celebration of highest virtues, we know in love, the pledging of the
deepest fidelity, and the expression of the highest aspiration.
If anyone can show just cause why they may not be lawfully joined
together, let him or her speak now or else forever hold his or her
peace.
MASTER OF CEREMONY: let us now lift up the name of our God,

REFLECTION ON CHRISTIAN MARRIAGE & EXHORTATION
TO THE BRIDE & GROOM
PARENTAL AFFIRMATION: DECLARATION OF CONSENT
AND BLESSING BY THE PARENTS
MASTER OF CEREMONY: Requesting the parents to please stand.
May we call on the parents of the groom Mr. & Mrs.
__________________ & the parents of the bride Mr. & Mrs.

MINISTER (Ptr. Ma. Gemma G. Santos): The marriage of Ramel &
Aileen unites two families and create a new one. They now ask for
your consent and blessings. Do you, parents consent to the union
Ramel & Aileen?
PARENTS: Yes, we do.
MINISTER: Do you rejoice in their love for each other who gives
you a new family?
PARENTS: Yes, we do.
MINISTER: Are you thankful to God for their marriage, willing to
pledge yourselves and your love to Ramel & Aileen, and to pray for
God’s blessing upon them?
PARENTS: Yes, we do.
MASTER OF CEREMONY: Thank you. May the parents take their
seats. Requesting the Groom and the Bride to arise.
CHARGE TO THE GROOM AND BRIDE
MINISTER: What we have now is a ceremony, an event. What will
transpire next will be your achievement. Ramel & Aileen, I charge
you both to seek the help of God in this sacred moment. If the
solemn vows you are about to make, be kept faithfully. I believe, your
family will be full of joy and blessings.
Many married couples were not able to endure the trials and
problems of marriage & temptations, and the result, is the number of
divorce, legal annulment and broken homes. But the purpose of
marriage is for you to abide in the principle of the Word of God
Matthew 19:6, ….Therefore what God has joined together, let no man
separate.
Ramel & Aileen, I also charge you to be faithful to each
another, keeping your relationship strong in love and commitment.
MASTER OF CEREMONY : May the Groom and the Bride take
their seats. Requesting all the Principal Sponsors to arise ( and take
their stand at the back of the Groom & Bride).
CHARGE TO THE PRINCIPAL SPONSORS
MINISTER: Sponsors, you are not just here because of tradition but
you are here of a serious purpose – to bear witness of the sacred
union that will take place and add your agreement before God that
which take place.
Jesus said that “If two or three of you shall ask anything in my
name, it shall be done unto of my father which is heaven.”
Sponsors, from this day forward, regardless of what comes,
you are in agreement of this union. Don’t ever attempt in anyway to
cause it to be anything other than a happy union.
MINISTERS : You can say “I DO” after my question.
MINISTERS : Will you sponsors, promise in the sight of God and
man today, that by God’s grace, you will do your best to support and
strengthen this marriage unto the coming year.
SPONSORS (answer) I do.
MINISTERS: May God bless you promise. Thank you sponsors.
MASTER OF CEREMONY : May the Principal Sponsors take their
seats. Requesting the Bible Bearer to come. I request the Bride &
Groom to arise.
BIBLE PLEDGE
MINISTER: The Bible is the Word of God. It should be our sole
guide and the rule of our faith.
Ramel & Aileen, Give time to read and study the Bible. Study
it to be wise, believe it to be safe, and practice it to be holy. Use this
as your guiding principle to build your marriage as you traverse this
new life you have chosen.
RAMEL & AILEEN (hold the bible together) – We gratefully receive
this book. And this book of the law shall not depart from our mouth,
but we shall meditate on it day & night, that we may observe to do
according to all that is written in it. For then we will make our way
prosperous and we will have good success.
MASTER OF CEREMONY: Requesting the Coin Bearer to come.
COIN AND BILL CEREMONY
MINISTER– We have now come to the Coin & Bill ceremony.
Jesus said in the scriptures, “Seek ye first the Kingdom of God
and His righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you.”
God is reminding us that He is the source of all kinds of
blessings needed by every couple and every family.
I have now these coins symbolizing God’s provision for this
couple. I have also here some peso bills to symbolize abundant
blessings.
Accept these coins and bills as symbol of God’s provision for
your material needs. I charge you both to be faithful stewards of all
your resources in turn.
 Ramel, as you place these treasures on the hand of your bride,
it signifies that from now on you are sharing with her a joint
stewardship of all material possessions.
Aileen. receive these treasures as a sign of your acceptance of
the shared responsibility.
Ramel – these coins and bills to you I give as a pledge of my
dedication to your welfare.
Aileen –I accept them with love and appreciation.
MARRIAGE VOWS
MINISTER – This time we will give the couple the chance to declare
their vows to each other and their vows to God.
Ramel & Aileen, remember that true love ever gives, forgives,
outgives. Love ever stands with open hands and while it lives, it gives.
For this is love’s prerogative, to give, and give and give.
I declare that this is the day that the Lord has made for you to
be united. And this day marks the new chapter of your life as a
couple, sanctified and blessed by the church.
“Love is patient and love is kind. Love always protects, always
trusts, always hopes, and always perseveres. And love never fails.
Therefore, Ramel & Aileen, I am now giving you the privilege
to declare your vows to each other.
MINISTER – Ramel, do you consistently take Aileen as your lawful
wedded wife, as your own flesh, to love her even as Christ loved the
church, to protect her and care for her for the rest of your life?
RAMEL – Yes, I do.
MINISTER – Then turn to her and make your vow.
RAMEL – Aileen I receive you as my lawful wedded wife, and I join
myself to you as your husband, to have and to hold, from this day
forward, for better or for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness
and in health, to love and to cherish till death do us part.
MINISTER – Aileen do you consistently take Ramel as your lawful
wedded husband, submitting yourself to him as unto the Lord,
showing reverence to him as the head of this union, to love him and
live with him for the rest of your life?
AILEEN– Yes, I do.
MINISTER – Then turn to her and make vows.
AILEEN – Ramel, I receive you as my lawful wedded husband, and I
join myself to you as your wife, to have and to hold, from this day
forward; for better or for worse; for richer, for poorer, in sickness
and in health; to love and to cherish till death do us part.

RING CEREMONY
MASTER OF CEREMONY– Requesting the Ring Bearer to come.
MINISTER : The rings are small in size but they are large in
significance. Made in precious metal, they remind us that love is
never cheap nor common. Made in the form of a circle, this design
tells us that love must never come to an end.
RAMEL – Aileen, I give you this ring as a token of my love for you,
as a symbol of my vow, and with all I am, and all that I have, I honor
you, in the name of the Father, of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.

AILEEN – Ramel, I give you this ring as a token of my love for you,
as a symbol of my vow. And with all I am, and all that I have, I honor
you, in the name of the Father, of the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

VEIL CEREMONY
MASTER OF CEREMONY
May the Groom and the Bride kneel down. Requesting the Veil
Sponsors to come.
MINISTER – The veil is a symbol of faithful love you have for each
other. Through the passing years, the veil will remind you that you
belong to each other and to no one else. The veil also indicates that a
woman needs covering, and that man is reminded of being
responsible to the woman.
Ramel & Aileen, accept the veil that is now placed across your
head and shoulder, which symbolizes also God’s care and protection
over you.
CORD CEREMONY
MASTER OF CEREMONY
Requesting the cord Sponsors to come.
MINISTERS – The threshold of life is best symbolized by the cord.
The cord will bond, solidify, and complete your marriage’s ceremony
in the sight of God.
During the pressures and crisis, let the cord reminds you of the
bond of love that neither man nor things present, nor powers and
principalities could separate you from the love of Christ and from
your love to each other.
SIGNING OF MARRIAGE CONTRACT
MASTER OF CEREMONY: Requesting the Principal Sponsors to
stand at the back of the Groom & Bride while signing the marriage
contract. After the signing of the Groom and the Bride, the Principal
Sponsors will take their respective turns on signing the marriage
certificate.

to come and remove the veil and the cord.
LIGHTING OF THE UNITY CANDLE
MASTER OF CEREMONY – May we request Angel Mae to assist
the Groom and the Bride in lighting the union candle.
MINISTER (Ptr. Ma. Gemma G. Santos)
Ramel & Aileen the union candles are lit for you. The light is the
symbol of the presence of the risen LORD in your life. May Christ’s
radiance shine in you always. In this light you will discover each
other’s beauty. In times of darkness and doubt, this light will direct
your steps to horizons of unlimited trust and understanding as Jesus
said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never
walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” In the context to the
Christian Faith, Jesus is the LORD who holds together the
relationship in spirit of love with joy of His blessings. The coming of
the two distinct personalities can only be meaningful under the
Lordship of Jesus Christ as light, as guide. And this light now shall
be symbolized by the lighting of the union candle.
BENEDICTION (Ptr. Ma. Gemma G. Santos)
MINISTER: The Lord bless you and keep you. The Lord make His
face shine upon you, and be gracious to you. The Lord lift up His
countenance upon you. And give you peace. In the name of the
Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
DECLARATION OF MARRIAGE (Ptr. Danilo C. Bagsican)
MINISTER: For as much as Ramel & Aileenhave consented in Holy
Matrimony, and have confirmed the same before us by giving and
receiving each others ring, by the authority vested upon me as a
minister. I, now pronounce these two as husband and wife, according
to the ordinance of God and the laws of the Republic of the
Philippines, in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the
Holy Spirit. Amen.

MINISTER – Ladies and gentlemen, brothers and sisters in Christ, it
