on both inner and outer surface, and free from such defects as bubbles and
mixing of foreign substances detrimental to practical service, and shall
comply with the requirements given in Table 1.
Table 1

Leak test No leakage shall occur

Drop test No damage nor loss of air-tightness

of stopper shall occur
~~

Boiling test Variation of internal capacity shall

be within 6 %

a Stress cracking test Shall show the.value agreed between

the parties concerned or more

Damage test of stopper No damage shall occur

4. Shape and Dimensions

The shapes and dimensions of bottles shall be as given in Fig. 1, Fig. 2,

f Table 2 and Table 3 , and internal and external stoppers made of polyethylene
specified in 5. shall accompany with the bottles.

The space left when a bottle is filled with a content of the nominal
content volume shall be not less than 5 % of the nominal content volume.

to stand still at room temperature for 72 h or more, and then whether the
stopper is damaged or not shall be checked.

7. Inspection
Appearance and shape shall be inspected on all products, the leak test,
drop test, boiling test, stress cracking test, damage test of stopper and
dimensional inspection shall be carried out based on a reasonably designed
sampling inspection plan, and the provisions of 3. and 4 . shall be satisfied.

The stress cracking test for bottles of nominal content volume 10 I or more
is, however, carried out subject to the agreement between the parties concerned.

8. Marking

The class, nominal content volume, manufacturing number or its abbrevia-

tion, and manufacturer’s nameor abbreviation shall be marked on each bottle.

The manufacturing number or its abbreviation may, however, be omitted
