A positive mind, or an optimistic attitude, is the practice of
focusing on the good in any given situation. It can have a big
impact on your physical and mental health. There are many
ways that you can do to help you think positive thoughts.

SPEND TIME WITH

POSITIVE PEOPLE
Being around positive people can help you
improve self-esteem and increasing the
chances of reaching goals. You should
always surround yourself with people that
uplifts you and help you see the bright side
in any situation

PRACTICE GRATITUDE
Practicing gratitude has been shown to reduce
stress, improve self-esteem, and foster
resilience even in very difficult times. Think of
people, moments, or things that bring you
some kind of comfort or happiness and try to
express your gratitude at least once a day.

KEEP A GRATITUDE
JOURNAL
Writing down the things you’re grateful for
can improve your optimism and sense of well-
being. You can do this by writing in a gratitude
journal every day, or jotting down a list of
things you’re grateful for on days you’re having
a hard time.

PRACTICE POSITIVE
SELF TALK
Research shows that even a small shift in the
way you talk to yourself can influence your
ability to regulate your feelings, thoughts, and
behavior under stress.
Here’s an example of positive self-talk:
Instead of thinking “I really messed that up,” try
“I’ll try it again a different way.”

FOCUS ON THE
GOOD THINGS
It’s easy to be blinded by our problems
and our pain, so much so that it becomes
impossible just to focus on the good
things in life. But seeing the good even
in the smallest things can dramatically
change the way we perceive ourselves
and our environment.
