Mr. Weaver,

As brought to the attention by yourself and many others, the situation regarding Ms. Urso
is one we’ve recently brought to the forefront of our attention. Her mistreatment and dismal by
the Illinois’ Hockey Club’s own coach has appalled us as well.

The coach in this situation will be thoroughly reprimanded and will receive punishment
as we see fit (including and up to termination). We at on the Illinois Hockey Board believe in
equal treatment of all our players, regardless of personal or general concerns. It is the duty of a
team and coach to provide support to all players, make the rink a safe space to voice any issues
or worries, and reach out to the proper professionals to ensure the safety and well-being of all
players.

More than half of Americans struggle with mental health and what to do when struggling;
we at the Illinois Hockey Board wish to support all our fellow hockey lovers in the best way
possible. We in no way wish to undermine Ms. Urso’s struggles and efforts, as we can easily
recognize the hard work and dedication she has put into our league.

Ms. Urso’s case is one we are reviewing heavily and with great urgency. She will of
course be brought back to her position on the team, provided with the necessary help and
treatment as she deems fit, and compensated for the disappointment our team has caused her and
her family. The coach in question has been under thorough investigation since this dilemma has
been brought to our attention. He will be punished not only for betraying the trust and
confidentiality of Ms. Urso, but the policies of which our association are founded upon. The
board has extended the most heartfelt apology to Ms. Urso and her family, and plan to educate
others on the proper policies regarding player confidentiality and the processes in which to
receive proper assistance.

Per your request, we hope that we have sufficiently amended the situation. While we
know we can never truly make amends for the trouble and pain our coach has put Ms. Urso
through, we hope to rebuild and reestablish a secure relationship wherein which she, and other
players, can reach out in full trust to our officials and receive the proper treatment and help. It
will always be the intention of the Illinois Hockey Board to do so.

Please do not hesitate to reach out to us again. You can contact us through our email,

Thank you for your concerns and time,

Alex Longo
