Conclusion of Data:

For this graph, I evaluated the change in salinity, dissolved oxygen, and temperature at differing water
depths. I concluded from my graph & table data table that there was mainly an increase across all these
parameters the deeper that the water depth was measured; especially given that these measurements
were recorded at the same time and location. Furthermore, when evaluating the data within dissolved
oxygen I found after recording the surface depth measurement (0m), there was a minimal decrease of
dissolved oxygen in correlation to the deeper the water depth. Considering that the decrease was
minimal overall, I still noticed a significant decrease in the dissolved oxygen depth between
measurements -4 & -6(m); which could possibly be due to major increase of temperature within the
river. Comparatively, I found the increase of temperature (especially at -4 &-6m) to be a little bit odd
considering that the surface of water is usually warmer given the sun. However, the weather could be
too cold in the area to notice a significant increase/decrease between differing depths.

Conclusion of Data:

For this time-series graph, I examined if there was a significant change in temperature over the years
based on the season by comparing a series of similar water depth measurements at the river on various
dates. The times documented include the Spring of 2017, Fall of 2018, Winter of 2020, and Winter of
2021. What I concluded after curating my table/graph was that over the past 5 years, the temperature
of the river has mainly decreased over time; with major differences apparent at deeper water depths. In
addition to this, the data points from February of 2020 show little/no change in temperature
corresponding to different to water depths. I believe this odd data could possibly be due to either an
unlikely change in the weather prior/during the time the temperatures were recorded, a significant
change in anthropogenic factors, or simply human error while recording the depth or temperature on
the given date. However, I found that overall across differing seasons and years, the temperature of the
river has mostly decreased-especially taking the variability in February 2022’s data into consideration.
After making my graph, I found that the deeper the water depth was measured, showcased this greater
decrease in temperature across the years. Additionally, as far as seasons I concluded that the time of
year had minimal impact on the temperature data because even with comparing similar seasons across
various years, there was still a significant difference.
