TOURISM
DEVELOPMENT

Tourism
Development
- refers to the growth and maintenance of the
tourism industry in a given locality. And tourism
planning is a very important part of this. On a basic
level, tourism development can be defined as
creating strategies and plans to
increase/develop/encourage tourism for a
destination. The fundamental reason behind planning
and implementing strategies for developing the
tourism sector is primarily to make money and to
subsequently increase the GDP (GROSS DOMESTIC
PRODUCT) of a country/area.

THE RELATION BETWEEN
TOURISM PLANNING AND
TOURISM DEVELOPMENT.

Tourism planning refers to the overall process of deploying

the development goals and the implementation of a

comprehensive tourism system. The aims of
tourism
planning increased visitor satisfaction, increased economic
benefits and the protection of basic cultural and natural
resources.
Organizations which are
run by the government
are known as the public
Roles of the sector. In travel a
government and tourism public sectors
the private sector play a vital role making
in tourism more aware of publicity
development with the business
environment. It also
helps to promote
destinations and provide
range of services to
encourage tourism
development.
While on a private sector in tourism
planning and development is it's ability to
invest time and money into aspects such as
marketing and training. This can help to
promote the destination overall and can
also help to up- skill staff in the local area.
The role of the private sector is more limited and
more clear-cut. It’s principle role:

Is to provide tourism facilities band services to the travelling public

while maximizing financial returns.
The center of the private sector’s involvement in tourism development
is the entrepreneurial role.
The private sector provides specialized technical kills required in the
development process through tourism consultants, market research
firms, economists, architects, engineers, designers, project managers
and builders.
It also provides a large portion of the capital funds for investment in
tourism projects through it’s financial institutions, corporate leaders
and individual citizens.
The most important widely-
accepted role of the
government in tourism
development: Is to act as catalyst and to
complement the effectsof the
private sectors including non-profit
organizations.

The WTO points out that as a

general principle, the government
should not do what the private
sector is able and willing to do.
Characteristics of individual
tourism

of different tourist services the tour
Individual tour is a complex
operator offers one customer and group of tourists. Often apart from
the basic services, they provide additional ones, for example, personal
guide or the car with a personal driver.
Individual tour is based on the clients’ wishes- from the choice of
the hotel to the planning of excursions. Possible changes of route and
visit to the additional objects must be arranged in advance. The
statistics shows that individual tours are suitable for the newlyweds
and businessmen that go on mission and have free time for the rest.
The main feature of individual tours is that they allow you to see things
not included in the common tour.
Individual tours have both advantages and disadvantages. Let’s
see the first ones.
ADVANTAGES:
Individual route. The customer can choose the places he/she finds
especially interesting. The customer decides how much times he/she
will stay in one place and where he/she will go after that.
2. Individual program. Different people have a different taste, which
means that the things one like, someone else can find uninteresting. If
you travel alone, you can be guided by your own interests and give
clearer priorities.
3. You don’t have to be linked to the group. Tourists often travel to rest
from the work and the people around. Group tour doesn’t allow this,
while the individual one gives an opportunity to travel alone.
DISADVANTAGES:
Price. It makes sense that individual tour is more expensive than
the group one. After all, excursions, transfers and guides for one or
two people are more expensive than similar events, for the group
of 20-40 tourists.
Time. You can coordinate even the smallest details with the
agency, which can take a lot of time. Of course, you may trust the
representatives of tourist companies, but in this case you won’t be
able to realize everything you’ve planned.
Solving the small problems. It is more difficult to travel alone or in
two, as you will have to do without the other’s advices and tips. It is
especially hard for those who don’t speak foreign languages. In
this case, catering, arrangement of rest and travelling can be very
uncomfortable.
Steps in the tourism project evaluation and analysis
system.

1. Pre-feasibility Study.
2. Site Analysis.
3. Market Analysis.

4. Economic Feasibility Analysis.

5. Cost/Benefit Analysis.
6. Government Financial incentives in tourism development.
7. Private sector financing for tourism development.
Roles of government financial incentives in
tourism development.
It is the responsibility of both national and local
governments to prepare and implement tourism
development plans, enforcement of standards and
collection of data for tourism purposes. It is imperative
to national governments to assist the LGUs in planning
and law enforcement.
What is Detailed design and
construction?

Detailed design is a phase where the design is refined and plans,

specifications and estimates are created. Detailed design will include
outputs such as 2D and 3D models P and ID's, cost build up estimates,
procurement plans and others. This phase is where the full cost of the
project is identified.

Construction project design. Is a process of creating a solution to a

project brief and then preparing instructions, allowing that solution to be
constructed. In order that project budgets can be satisfied, programs
achieved and designs properly coordinated and communicated, the design
process needs to be planned and controlled.
