start-ups in India. They offered coaching and

pendrive files or tablets). But around January
2017, their status started to dwindle and
ultimately the company shut down.

2 37 Coins 37coins was a bitcoin startup based in


Sunnyvale, California. It provides SMS
bitcoin wallet service for the unbanked and
untechnical in developing economies without
Internet access.

3 Theranos Theranos, founded by Elizabeth Holmes was


a start up which aimed to predict diseases
with blood samples. It was started in 2003,
and shut down by 2018.
India's own social networking platform
4 Hike Messenger owned by Bharati Enterprises was launched
in the year 2012. It had many unique
features which included a library of stickers
in 40+ languages, hike run etc. but
unfortunately had to shut down by 2021

5 uBiome
uBiome, Inc. was a biotechnology company
based in San Francisco founded in 2012 that
developed technology to sequence the
human microbiome. The company filed for
Chapter 11 bankruptcy in September 2019,
and less than a month later it filed for a
Chapter 7 bankruptcy (liquidation) and shut
down.

6 Panda TV A website established in 2015 that provides


user submitted videos in categories such as
video games, fighting, and singing. Its
services ended on 2019 after the company
failed to raise fresh funds to keep operations
going in a cash-intensive business

7 Pepper Tap Pepper tap is an online marketplace where


individuals may get food at a lower cost
founded by Milind Sharma and Navneet
Singh in the year 2014. It stated in April
2016 that it would be closing its doors.

8 Utrip Utrip was a travel planning startup


established in the United States in 2012.
They used Artificial Intelligence and user
recommendations to create highly
personalized itineraries for its clients.The
company had to shut down in 2019.

9 Sharingear Sharingear was a peer-to-peer musical gear


sharing marketplace founded by Mircea
Gabriel Eftemie.However, multiple reasons
led the site to shut down on December 26,
2015.

10 Blackberry The fate of Blackberry - released into


the market in 1999 as a pager, this
brand saw raging popularity in the years
that followed. Nevertheless, the tycoon
became outdated.
