Hello everyone.

My name is Shante' Martinez, I also go by Shay. I've lived here in Nevada for the past two

years. Originally from California. Ive been a Preschool Teacher for 11 years and a Toddler

Teacher for 3. I always wanted to work with kids ever since I was a kid. My mom would

have other the neighborhood kids in our small apartment over for parties or just to feed

them. That started me wanting to be a teacher.

I am soo close to graduating to get my degree, thats kinda the reason why Im taking the 8

week courses. To knock it all out so I can graduate and also be qualified for a higher

position in the company Im working at. I love working with Preschoolers, my preferred

age. I can be my silly, nerdy self and they wont judge; too hard. The kids love when I wear

my Spiderman masks or my Baby Groot one. The company I work has the Master Teacher

Program which Im trying to get into. It masters Toddler Class, Preschool Class and Pre-K.

My site is small so only one teacher at a time can qualify. I can qualify next year, so here I

am, trying to get my AA.

Yes teaching can be stressful but also enjoyable. Im the type who helps out my coteachers

as much as i can, without getting burnt out myself. Teaching should be supporting each

other and taking equal responsibility. Especially during this pandemic.
