duplex rooftop
industrial apartment | residential duplex

2 celebrities who wish to remain unkown having a place to live together, to

reflect their needs in their house design, and to make the place suitable for the
kind of gatherings and events they host, an industrial approach, using bold
materials was used, to asure their privacy, each bedroom was put in a separate
floor, cusomly designed to the needs of every one of the residents, greenery
and transparent surfaces play a big role in the design of this apartment.
By removing all the
external walls we
have mazimized the
amount of natural
light and access to
the view, specially
the client was not
very concerned with
privacy, by doing
so, the space got a
feeling of freshness
and spaciousness.
Implementing
raw materials
like concrete and
deteriorized black
steel gave a space a
very young identity,
with a unique style for
residences in Egypt.

working in
cooperative working spaces

To create a space that really everybody can use, creating

a variety of options to make it fomfortable for both
regulars and occasional customers, using USM office
stations, partitions and storage units, creating closed
cabins with internal glazing systems, we managed to
create various types of stations and spaces in terms
of function, feel of the space, colors, and facilities. render credit to Eslam Ezz El Din
Built on 450 sqm., the
zoning mainly consists
of 2 open space areas,
one to be rentedas single
offices, with different
rates according to the
period of booking, the
other part is designed
to be rented as a whole
zone for desiring groups
or companies, yet can
also be rented as single
stations, the office got
3 meeting rooms, 1 big
and 2 medium, kitchen
and bathrooms are
included in the core.
At the zoning we
located all the common
functions in the middle
area, where the
reception, print station,
big meeting room and
break areas are located.
The use of bold black simple straight lined
lighting with the exposed AC system is to
reflect the young identity of the brand
as opposed to the high end luxurious
old school mother brand Living In, and
to cope with the working space latest
design trends worldwide. Yet using clean
lines and minimal colors with the colorful
insertion in the furniture still gives the feel
of high end space that the users will enjoy.

house of gardens
gardens within apartments

The context of the city of Mantova, around the project is full

of medieval houses, where each house has its own court with a
garden. The concept of the project was locating gardens for each
apartment even if it’s not a medieval housing. It’s encouraging
to keep some of the essential traditions of the old architecture
of the city in the contemporary architecture. You can find
some of these gardens are carved in the facade of the building.
04
house of music
revitalization of Al Azbakiyya

This project stands as the practical example of the theoretical approach that was
discussed throughout the thesis. Architectural identity in Cairo, how did it disappear,
and how to revitalize it or create a new one that suits the city and its inhabitants.
Azbakiyya, the chosen area, the melting pot of Islamic and neoclassical
architecture, the lake and leisure place in the medieval times, the princely garden
and center of music in the modern times, now completely decayed and deserted.
The project is to revitalize the area, designing a project following architectural features
which speaks for the Cairene society, serve its needs, respects the architectural
legacy of the city and getting advantages of experiences we get from it, and
pursues architecture in the rest of the world. The aim is to design a project which
can be a seed that can be developed into a new architectural identity for the city.
The Lake:
Marking the borders of the former lake,
we start understanding what should be
demolished in order to retrieve it.
After marking buildings which has
historical value, we reach to the final
shape of the new lake.

The Park:
Islamic water gardens usually consist
of many islands of green areas, carved
in a big paved platform, connected
together with small canals. Using
the same concept in our project with
converting the used materials. The
big platform will be our lake instead
of the paved one. The design of the
project then consists of some islands
that will host the different functions in
the project, as well as the gardens that
will be added or will be restored from
the ruins that are existing nowadays.
The lines of the islands are derived
formally from the grid of the
surrounding urban pattern aimingthe
project will be a window towards the
historical city.

fady’s office
personal office space

A 35 sqm. office is a very limited area

when you want to fit much things
inside, the client had a very spicific
minimal taste, yet demanding a lot
from such small area, the challenge
of this project was to create as much
working areas, storage areas and good
circulation while keeping the look as
minimal as possible. Using technology
and good craftmanship, we managed
to create a comfortable place, with
electric plugs and access to all the
gadgets from central places distributed
in the office to the client’s comfort.

pesceria
design within heritage

The old abandoned fish market designed by Giulio

Romano has a very special location looking to the
canal in Mantova. The general theme of the project was
to preserve and reuse the building and its extensions
for a function related to food. The main concept of the
project is exhibiting local food products and how it is
made in the main exhibition area, then the visitor will
have the ability to go on to enjoy some meals made
by the same restaurants who are exhibiting their
products, and even by non cooked products of the
same exhibited ones to have for their own kitchen use.
