2. What are the characteristics of the tourism and hospitality industry?

Explain in minimum words of 150. Provide relevant examples.
 One of the features of tourist items is intangible. Because that they
cannot be handled. there is no physical evidence that one has
utilized them. For example, suppose I book a hotel room and sleep
in it for four days. When I check out, there is no physical or concrete
evidence that I stayed at that hotel. There are no items to display as
evidence of purchase. The second features of tourist items is
inseparable. This implies that the tourist and the service provider
must work together for the service to be provided. For example
when you travel to a private resort for four days and the resort
includes a one-day spa as part of the package, you cannot take that
one-day spa home with you and must utilize it at the resort itself;
otherwise, it is useless once you leave the property. The third
features of tourist items is variability. Service variability indicates
that the quality of services varies depending on who delivers them
as well as when, where, and how they are supplied. When you
return to the same garage for a service on your automobile, you
may experience varying degrees of customer satisfaction or work
speed. The fourth features of tourist items is perishable. that an
experience will not persist, and that the following experience will
not be the same as the previous one: Once a hospitality feature has
been exhausted, it is no longer available. For example If a person
buys an airline ticket for a specific day, but then gets a cold and is
unable to fly, the ticket expires. The fifth features of tourist items is
seasonal. Tourism is a seasonal industry, and no single place can be
popular all year. For example every summer her into the Philippines
the people join to beach and will see an increased demand during
these times for specific products, especially items is the swim suit or
summer cloths. The six features of tourist items is substitutable.
When a certain product or service may be replaced by another
equivalent one, this is referred to as substitution in tourism. If a
specific destination, product, or service has near alternatives, its
demand will be more elastic. For example Rail service between Paris
and London, for example, is a near alternative for air and sea
transport between the two cities.
