11:24a 5:00 Activity 1: Giant Emoji

"Who can tell me what an emoji is?
That's right, they are little pictures that we can use to communicate different
things."

(Show pic of emoji with answer folded back and have kids guess what each
emoji expresses)

"We have so many different kinds of emotions! Do you think God cares about
our emotions?"

11:29a 10:00 Activity 2: Giant Candyland

"Has anyone ever played CandyLand? Today, we're going to play a game of
Giant CandyLand.
We are going to line up, youngest to oldest. When it's your turn, you will spin
the spinner and move the correct number of spaces. If you land on a plain
square, you stay there. If you land on a square with directions, you do what
the directions say. Whoever reaches the end first gets a prize!"
(kids kash is the prize)

After the game:

"It was hard when we landed on spots that made us wait or go backward,
wasn't it? But how did you feel if you got to go forward?
Even playing silly games can cause us to have big emotions!"

11:39a 5:00 Bible: Job Cries Out to God
Have kids open Bibles and follow along: Job 23:1-7

Has anyone been so upset all you could do what cry?

I think Job was feeling that way in today's story. Remember last week we
talked about how Job has been through a lot of tough stuff. Does anyone
remember some of the things he went through?
(his flock and servants were killed, his sons and daughters were killed, he was
sick with painful sores all over his body)

Let's see how Job is reacting now.

(Read Job 23:1-2)

He said his complaint was bitter. What do you think that means?
-Bitter can mean anger or hurt.

(Read Job 23:3-5)

He was so upset. He wants to know where to go to find God.

(Read Job 23:6-7)

Did God treat Job's feelings as if they weren't important?
-No, He listened to how Job was feeling. God always listens to us.

Do you feel like you can talk to God about anything?

Sometimes it can feel a little silly talking to God about are feelings. Or we may
feel shy. But God is always there listening and wants to talk to us.

11:44a 3:00 Big Idea: 4-5

Can someone read the big idea that is on this poster board?
Since we are learning about big and small, I decided to put it kinda small on
this big poster.
Maybe someone can come up and use this magnifying glass to read it.

(Someone reads it)

Awesome. Let's all read it together from the slide.

**Slide 4 should be up before big idea is revealed and then show slide 5 for
class to read together**

11:54a 3:00 Object Lesson: God Listens Play
(Hold up baby monitor) Video
"Who can tell me what this is?
It's a baby monitor. What is it for?
They let us hear a baby from another room.
Why would I bring this to class this morning?
In some ways. our prayers to God are similar to this baby monitor. Our
prayers tell God what we need or how we are feeling.
God listens and helps up when we have big feelings.

11:57a 5:00 Scripture: Hebrews 4:14-16

Have you ever tried to explain how you're feeling to someone but it doesn't
seem like they get it at all?
How do you feel when you're misunderstood?
The cool thing is even when people don't understand us, God does. We can
always talk Him.

Let's read Hebrews 4:14-16 together.

God understands our feelings because He created our feelings. When Jesus
was on earth, he felt the same feelings we often feel. He felt big feelings too.
He went through difficult things and was sad at times.

So it's a good idea to take our big feelings to God because not only does God
understand us, God listens when we have big feelings!

12:02p 5:00 Activity 3: Giant Listening Ears Music

(Give each kid the giant ears printable. The kids will cut out the ears and
decorate them however they want. Then give them a strip of paper and have
them write the big idea on it (God listens when we have big feelings).
When they are done decorating, staple the strip into a circle like a headband
and attach the ears to each side. (an example is providede)

"It's important to remember that God listens when we have big feelings!"

12:07p 5:00 Memory Verse: Ephesians 5:15 7

I have a big box and a small box. Which one do you want me to open? Let's
vote. If you want the big one, raise your hand. What about the small one?

(Open whichever box wins)

Inside we have a way we can recite our memory verse. Let's see what it says.

(Have the kids do whatever it says in the box.)
