11:24a 15:00 Activity 1: Big and Small Jenga

"This month is all about big and small things because we are
going to talk about our great, big God! "

Split kids into two groups. One will play giant jenga while the
other plays mini jenga and then they will switch.

After the games, discuss:

Which was harder?
Which was more fun?

11:39a 3:00 Discussion 1: Would you rather..."

"Would you rather be as small as an ant for a day or as big as
a giraffe for a day?

Why?

It's interesting that how big or small something is, really

depends on who is looking at it. Our dad may seem tall to us
but short to a professional basketball player. An apple may
seem small to us but really big if a bumblebee was looking at it.

Today we are going to talk about the way our great, big God
looks at things regardless of how big or small they seem to us.

11:42a 5:00 Bible: Job's Sufferings
Open Bibles to Job 1:1 and 2:1-10.

"This month we are going to hear stories about a man named

Job. He seemed to be blameless and have integrity.

Read Job 1:1

What does that mean? Blameless?
(Yeah, someone who hasn't done anything wrong)
How about integrity?
(Yeah, someone who does the right thing consistently, even
when nobody is watching)
Blameless and having integrity are how the Bible describes
Job.

Let's read Job 2:1-3

Why do you think this meeting in heaven happened?
(It doesn't really tell us but we do know God is so happy with
Job and how he didn't give up on God even when things were
hard.)

Let's read Job 2:4-6

Do you think Job was only a good guy because God had
given him what he needed?
(That's what lots of people thought. But God knew Job's heart
and knew he really loved God and had faith)

Let's read Job 2:7-8

Do you think Job stopped loving God when he got sick?

Let's read Job 2:9-10

Remember how we talked about blameless? Job stayed
blameless and kept his integrity. Even when people were
saying mean things about God and Job was suffering. He
probably felt like one really small person but knew he could
count on his really big God!

11:47a 3:00 Big Idea: We are small, but God is big. 4-5
Can someone read the big idea that is on this poster board?
Since we are learning about big and small, I decided to put it
kinda small on this big poster.
Maybe someone can come up and use this magnifying glass
to read it.

(Someone reads it)

Awesome. Let's all read it together from the slide.

**Slide 4 should be up before big idea is revealed and then

show slide 5 for class to read together**

11:57a 5:00 Activity 3: What do you think? 7-10 Music
**slide 7 is up to start**

What do y'all think? Do you feel like you are small or big?
(Kids answer)

Let's look at some pictures to see.

*slide 8*
This is a picture of Earth compared to the moon. The Earth
seems pretty big, huh?

*slide 9*
This is a picture of the Earth and other planets next to the sun,
we don't look so big now, right?

*slide 10*
This is a picture of our solar system (our sun and planets that
are near us) compared to the Milky Way Galaxy. Now we
seem REALLY small.

Who made our galaxy?

What about our solar system?
What about our planet?
What about you and me? Who made us?

Pretty cool, right. God made all of it. He is so BIG. And he

cared enough to make each of us. He must think we are pretty
special.

12:02p 5:00 Scripture: Psalm 8:1-9
Can I please have 4 volunteers to help me read some more
scripture?

*Hand each volunteer a card to read*

What does verses one and verse nine say about God?
(He is majestic)

Pretty cool that God made the whole Earth and decided it
needed us too.
He wants a relationship with us, and to be our friend. We may
be small but we are still so important to God.
Do you know who God sent so that we can have a relationship
with Him?
(That's right, Jesus)
We are small, but God is big and is able to do more than we
can ever imagine.

12:07p 5:00 Memory Verse: Ephesians 5:15 11

I have a big box and a small box. Which one do you want me
to open? Let's vote. If you want the big one, raise your hand.
What about the small one?

(Open whichever box wins)

Inside we have a way we can recite our memory verse. Let's

see what it says.

(Have the kids do whatever it says in the box.)
