Football

Football is also commonly known as soccer. It is considered to be the most popular sport in the world,
at it has been played all over the world. Many people from different range of ages, from children to
adults, are the fan of this sport. Football is a team sport played between two teams. Each team consists
of eleven players. The game is played by using round-spherical ball.

The object of the game, which is played on a wide rectangular field with a goal on each of the field, is to
score by putting the ball into an adversary goal. The football players are only allowed to use their feet,
chests, and heads to move the ball from one point to another. The goal is kept by a goal keeper who is
allowed, at the exception of other players, to use his hand in stopping the ball during the game.

A football match has two rounds of games. Each round is forty-five minutes long, with fifteen minutes of
break time. The winners are those who score the most goals. If the footballs match ends in a draw, the
two teams may be directed to play extra time. If the result stays draw after the extra time, then the
winner is decided through penalty shootouts.

The way football played now was first played in England. Nowadays, it is governed by FIFA, the
International Federation of Football Association. The game is played now all over the world and
competitions are organized nationally, continentally and internationally. There are numbers of
competitions are held on this sport, started from the Premier to the Champion League. The most
prestigious of football competitions is the World Cup which is held every four years.
