Financing Liability of BSTI
BSTI is an autonomous body under the Ministry of Industries. BSTI is self sustainable and
adequately funded by its income, mostly from product certification activities. The government of
Bangladesh provides financial backup in case of any short fall in revenues.
Any financial liabilities accruing or being imposed by any court is negligible. BSTI however has
provided for reserve funds to meet any litigation cost or penalty imposed by court. As BSTI’s
excess earning are returned back to government treasury, consequently the responsibility for
liability is also shared with the government.
