„NICOLAE IORGA” EDUCATIEI

BOTOSANI NATIONALE

Argument

Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change world (Nelson
Mandela). Education has aimed, over time, to form the personality of man, according to the
particularities of each, but also according to social dynamics, the mobility of professions
through the dynamic integration of person in society. That is why the school has always
played an essential role in any era, and today, in the current context of a society structured by
information knowledge and technical efficiency, pragmatism-oriented, the relevance of
education is even greater.

School is a place that provides education, and education is the key to life. Education is a
set of actions deliberately carried out in a society, in order to transmit and train to the new
generations the work and life experience, knowledge, skills, behaviors and values
accumulated by mankind until then.

Rousseau’s theory of education emphasized the importance of expression to produce a well-

balanced, freethinking child. He believed that if children are allowed to develop naturally
without constraints imposed on them by society they will develop towards their fullest
potential, both educationally and morally.

Plato believed in a strong state-controlled education for both men and women. He was of the
opinion that every citizen must be compulsorily trained to fit into any particular class, viz.,
ruling, fighting or the producing class. Education, however, must be imparted to all in the
early stages without any discrimination.

The lesson proposed in the module "One world", has as subjects two things:

-paper money and coins;

- review grammar and vocabulary skills previously learnt ( present simple, adverbs of
frequency, prepositions of place etc.)

The purpose of this lesson is getting familiar with the notions about money that is the most
used around the world.

At the end of the lesson students will be able to:

O1-practise and develop reading skills;

O2-practise and develop writing skills;

O3-recognise paper money and coins;

O5-learn how to use correctly another words for dollars, pounds;

O6-complete sentences using adverbs of frequency, prepositions of place and present simple;

O7-use the new words in the dialog-game.

At the English lesson, students will work with textbook, PPT presentation, perceptive
teaching material (notes and coins replica) and play a game using the discussed notions.

I will use as methods and procedures: conversation, explanation, practice with exercises,
reading. The conversation will be used often during the lesson, reading and practice will be
used at the textbook and explanation will be used to explain to the students the use of the new
words.

In the end, I will make general compliments and I will thank the class for their implication
during the lesson.
