Narrative Report on
BATA KA PA sa Gitna ng Pandemya
( A school initiative on Reading Program)

The Department of Education is facing a crisis because of the COVID 19

pandemic. No face-to-face classes are permitted in all public and private
schools, including colleges. In this dire situation, many of our schoolchildren,
particularly in rural areas, are having difficulty in  answering their modules
leading to worsening performance as they require aid in reading.

We, the teachers at San Pedro Central Elementary School, spearheaded

by school coordinator Mr. Junjay T. Balde, initiated a program named "BATA
KA PA SA GITNA NG PANDEMYA" in which we taught and guided parent
volunteers of different puroks of San Pedro Pagadian City, on how to assist
schoolchildren. Volunteer parents taught the children to read and supported
some of the youngsters in answering their modules at Purok Masanagon 1,
where I was assigned.
