Since pandemic strike the world, everything seems went down.

It took many lives, and it

will take more. That’s the brutal reality we’re facing today. But covid-19 isn’t just about the
virus itself, it’s also affect on different aspects such as the rising of poverty rate,
unemployment, economic status of the country, education system, and most importantly the
physical and mental health of individuals.

The resulting lockdowns due to the Covid-19 had created a significant downturn in the
job market, thus worsen the impact of poverty in the Philippines. At the beginning of the
pandemic, the Philippines unemployment rate increased around 5%, but it is now risen due to
lockdown measures. Moreover, It is a figure that could rise as quarantine continues, leading to
increased poverty and unemployment in the country.

When the country recorded its first case of Covid-19, restricting mobility and
commercial activity was observed then travel restriction was mandated which resulted a
collapse on the Philippine economy. Tourism plays a major role contributing 5.4% of
gross domestic product (GDP) in 2020. The pandemic caused the Philippines’ economy to
decline to its lowest level since World War II, with GDP decreasing by 9.5% in 2020. As a result
of the COVID-19 crisis, the Philippines’ national debt increased by 26.7% to P9.7 trillion in 2020.

The majority of the burden of education disruption falls unequally on our country with
people living in remote areas with weaker education systems. Some students will be able to
connect with their teachers virtually on the internet, but many will not. The government should
establish and allocate a precise frequency band to the students that those in need a better
connection.

Pandemic has had a major effect on our lives. Many of us are facing challenges that can
be stressful, overwhelming, and cause strong emotions in adults and teens. Learning to cope
with stress in a healthy way will make you, the people you care about, and those around you
become more resilient. Take breaks from watching, reading, or listening to news stories,
including those on social media. It’s good to be informed but hearing about the pandemic
constantly can be upsetting. Consider limiting and disconnecting from phone, tv, and computer
screens for a while. Read a book that you will find interesting or try meditating alone. Reflect on
yourself how grateful you are living in this wonderful world we have. For those who badly
needed help, I will be allocating mental health professionals for every cities.

Hence, if I were to lead the country, I will take a big risk by filing a petition to the UN
that pharmaceutical companies should distribute the ingredient of vaccines. I will urge them to
allocate vaccines’ ingredient to those struggling countries like India, Philippines, Afghanistan,
South Africa and many more. Possessing the formula of a vaccine will lead the country to a
faster vaccination. Afterwards, local governments will also force at full tilt vaccination to
outstretch 70% percentage of local government population. All building establishments on local
governments will strictly follow “no vaccine no entry” policy. The country won’t progress if the
government doesn’t have a concrete plan that follows quarantine or lockdown measures. As
your leader, the pandemic will be my primary focus as this is the cause of all the problems
occurring in our country. Thank you.
