OPENING PRAYER
Lord God, we humbly offer you our first set of modular classes this two weeks. As we start
this school year 2021-2022 and continue with the new normal education in our Junior High School, we
pray that you bless us with understanding. We pray for good health of our teachers, and our family
members and we continue to pray for healing. Make us instruments of your goodness and love and to
value the effort of our expected outcome at the end of this module.
Venerable Ignacia del Espiritu Santo, pray for us.

 HTML, in full hypertext markup language, a formatting system for displaying material retrieved over
the Internet. Each retrieval unit is known as a Web page (from World Wide Web), and such pages
frequently contain hypertext links that allow related pages to be retrieved. HTML is the markup
language for encoding Web pages.

Basic HTML Structure

What is a URL?
URL stands for Uniform Resource Locator, or in other words, the web address of an online resource, i.e.
a web site or document.
Using the URL of this article as an example, the three basic parts of a URL you should understand are the
protocol, the domain name and the path.

 A. Creating an HTML Page in Notepad
To start creating your HTML file, open NOTEPAD since this is where we will start to write codes.

B. Writing an HTML File in Notepad

What is Notepad?
Notepad is a generic text editor included with all versions of Microsoft Windows that allows you to create,
open, and read plaintext files. If the file contains special formatting or is not a plaintext file, it cannot be read
in Notepad. The image shown here is a small example of what the Notepad may look like while running.

C. Saving an HTML File in Notepad

Here are the steps in saving your HTML file:
1. Select File in the menu bar.
2. Click Save under the File Menu.
3. Name the file and put. html at the end of the file name. Example Grade8.html

D. Opening an HTML File in the Browser

Here are the steps in saving your HTML file:
1. Double click on the HTML file or
2. Right click and choose open with and choose your web browser.

ACTIVITY 3.2 MY FIRST HTML FILE

Instructions: It is time to create your own HTML file. Launch your Notepad and create your first HTML file.
Write your own biography. It should have a minimum of five sentences. Once you are done, save your file as
BIGROGRAPHY-YOURNAME.HTML. Launch your file to check if you did it correctly.
