Explanation
The Dice Rolling PDF is a pdf file that has buttons and combo boxes that produce
virtual dice rolls.
The top bar has 4 combo boxes. The first is the number of dice to roll. The second
is the type of dice to roll. The "D" between the first two fields is a button that resets their
values to 1. The third is the number to add/subtract to the number produced by the first
two numbers. Addition/subtraction is determined by the radio buttons to the left of the
combo box. The fourth is the number of times that the number produced by the first three
fields should be produced. The "X" between fields three and four is a button that resets
their values to 0 and 1. The first two boxes allow numbers 1 to 1000 to be entered. The
third allows 0 to 1000. The 4th allows 1 to 100. Below these fields are 3 buttons each.
The "" button decrements the field, the "r" button resets the field to its default and the "+"
button increments the field. Under the third are 10 buttons, labelled "+" and 210. These
do the same thing as the "+" and "" buttons but add/subtract the number in the button to
the field. The "+" button determines if the value is added or subtracted. If pressed it
changes to "" and values are subtracted. Pressing it again returns it to "+" and addition.
The box below that and to the left contains several buttons. These set the top 4
numbers to the dice type listed in the button. There are 3 check boxes in the box. The
first “Set X To 1” if checked sets the first combo box to 1 when a dice button is pressed.
The second “Set +/ To 0” sets the third combo box to 0 when a dice button is pressed.
The third “Roll D setters when pressed” indicates that the virtual dice will be rolled when a
dice button is pressed.
The first button to the right of the box is the “Roll” button. Press that when you
want the virtual dice to be rolled. To the right of that is a text that reads “Clear Output
When Roll”. If checked the output box will be cleared when a roll occurs. Next to this is
the "Nline" button. If pressed it changes to "Space", press it again it returns back. If its
value is "Nline" numbers will be output with newlines. If "Space" then they will be output
with a space between each. Below that is the “Clear Output” button that clears the output
area when pressed. The “1d6 vs 1d6 Initiative” button rolls an initiative for two sides
using a d6. The last button says “6 3d6”. When pressed 6 3d6 rolls are outputted. Good
for ability score creation.
Beneath the "6 3d6" button is the "High 3, 4d6" button. This rolls 4d6 6 times. The
3 high dice of each roll is added together. The dice rolls and the sum of the high 3 are
output. Below this are the "Adv" and "Dis" buttons. These stand for Advantage and
Disadvantage. The Adv button rolls 2 d20 rolls and outputs the higher of the two. The
Dis button does this but outputs the lower of the two. Fields 3 and 4 are used for both of
these buttons.
