Guidelines for the Presentation

PowerPoint Presentation Guidelines (30 minutes)

1. Use a “Blank Presentation” theme


2. LINES MUST ONLY BE IN A MAXIMUM OF 4 LINES.
ORDER OF SLIDES.
- TITLE of the PAPER
- MEMBERS
- Chapter 1: Problem and its scope
 Introduction
 BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY
 Research Problem or Statement Of The Problem
 HYPOTHESIS (IF CORRELATION)
 THEORETICAL FRAMEWORK
 CONCEPTUAL FRAMEWORK (this would be your opportunity as well to
verbally define the variables used in the study, instead adding additional
slides for the definition of terms.)
- Chapter 2: RRL
 Just mention at least 3 literatures and 3 studies, and the synthesis.
(PLEASEEEEEE ONLY A MAXIMUM OF 4 SLIDES FOR EACH SLIDE)
Chapter 3: Methodology
 Research Methods And Design
 Sample Size And Sampling Method
 Type Of Research Instrument Used (E.G. Survey Questionnaire, Or One-On-
One Interview)
 Data Gathering Procedures
 Statistical Tool To Be Used For Each SOP (IN TABLE FORM)

TIPS:

1. Your slides should be visually appealing, but “clean”


2. Use a minimum font size of 32 point or 48 point
3. Do not overburden slides with text
4. Slides should complement the oral presentation, not repeat or replace it.
5. NEVER read for your slides OR your paper. Consider putting key terms on the slides,
not full sentences
6. Avoid looking at the screen (or notes) for more than a moment
7. Visuals are always nice and help make points or break up text
8. Oral presentations should be well rehearsed, professional, clear, enthusiastic, and
concise.
9. Always end up the presentation with a “tahnk you, Ma’am/sir”, a smile, positivism,
and a grateful heart.
BULLETS

No more than 6 bullets per slides (some would recommend 4 or 5)

Short and concise is best

One thought per line - no more than 2 levels of bullets per slide

COLORS AND CONTRAST

Use dark font on a light background

Too many colors overwhelm the eye

BACKGROUND

Use simple background 

Stick with a single background for the main presentation

Presenters

1. All presenters must be present during the online defense.


2. All must wear formal attire or corporate attire.
3. All members should be able to participate in the presentation thus, the leader
must assign each member a slide/ part of the presentation.
4. The allotted time intended for the entire presentation is 1 hour. 30 minutes for
th4 slides presentation and 30 minutes for the Q&A.
5. During the Q&A, all members must open their cam.
6. All members must have a copy of the manuscript.
7. You may record the conversation or take notes of all the corrections, critiques
and, or suggestions of the Panelists.
