Floor Plans

• What is the Floor Plan?

• Types of Floor Plan
• Information included within Floor Plan:
• Axes, Dimensions (inner and outer),
wall thickness and materials, openings
(doors and windows), north sign,
levels, stairs....
Axes

Dimensions

• Outer dimensions (located and drawn outside the floor plans)

1. Starting from building perimeter- border- Detailed

Dimensions: openings, and architectural details

2. Next- Middle dimensions line: distances between

constructions axes and distances between axes and the
buildings

3. At the outer location from the building borders- Total

dimension line
Dimensions

• Inner dimensions (located and drawn inside the floor plans)

• Every space has two dimensions lines: first line shows the
distance between openings and architectural elements

• Second line shows total dimensions of the spaces (width and

length)
North Sign

• Important for deciding elevations

• Possible influence some design decisions

• Main access for the building from the main street
