Target Audience

A target audience is the group that the media product is targeting..

This is so that producers include content that appeals to the target audience so that they
know and recognize that it is for them. Also it is important that it engages with the audience
for success and it is important that the audience buys the product.

Demographics -.The definition of demographics is a way of grouping the audience into


categories, these categories are:-
● Age
● Gender
● Lifestyle
● Spending power

Spending power is concerned with disposable income - is where after all the bills are paid
the remaining money is yours to spend on whatever you want.
Spending power is categorized as A,B,C 1 spending profiles.

These are as follows:-


Media Pack for Empire

Age - The typical readership is - 18-40

Gender -The main Gender audience is three quarters


male (75%)

Lifestyle The typical reader is in a relationship but not


necessarily married, in a job, and would be into film mabe
have a Netflix account and Disney account and Amazon
Prime and loves to go to the cinema and watch the latest
films.

Spending Power:- They are ABC1, profile so they have


quite a good disposable income as they will have at least
a managerial role. This refers to 68% of them.
