Common Regulations
1.1. International E-Lite POTTERY ACADEMY for charismatic, romantic, eccentric personalities and
cultural figures (hereinafter referred to as Academy)
is a summer school which is designed to give its participants the basics of clay work and the insight into
the traditions of the Ukrainian pottery.
1.2. The Co-Organizers of the ACADEMY are the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine, the National Museum of
Ukrainian Pottery in Opishne, the Vasyl Krychevsky State Specialized Art Boarding School The College of
the Arts in Opishne, the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, the Ceramology Institute – the branch of
the Ethnology Institute of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, The Poltava Yuri Kondratiuk
National Technical University, the National Union of Artists of Ukraine, the Ukrainian fund of culture, the
Leonid Kuchma Presidential fund Ukraine, public association The Congress of Ukrainian Ceramologists.
1.3. The purpose of the ACADEMY is providing practical assistance to those willing to master the basics of
pottery.
1.4. The main tasks of the ACADEMY are:
to learn the basics of pottery;
to get the skills of practical work with clay;
to get theoretical knowledge of history and artistic ceramics;
to creatively communicate with the leading art ceramists and folk master potters of Ukraine;
to get acquainted with the collections of the National Museum of Pottery in Opishne.
1.5. The aim and main tasks of the ACADEMY are realised through practical and theoretical lessons.
1.6. The National Museum of Ukrainian Pottery in Opishne was indicated as the location of the

1.7. June 11–August 1, 2018 was indicated as the date of the INTERSymposium
1.8. The ACADEMY curators: a researcher of the scientific and exploring department of the ceramological
sources of the National Museum of the Ukrainian Pottery in Opishne Oksana Yatsenko; an art
ceramists, a junior researcher of scientific and exploring department of the ceramological sources of the
National Museum of the Ukrainian Pottery in Opishne Zinaiida Blyzniuk; an art ceramist, a
monumental artist, a concept artist, a distinguished master of folk art of Ukraine, a member of the
National Union of the Folk Art Masters Serhii Radko; an art ceramist, a member of the National Union
of Artists of Ukraine, the National Union of Artists of Moldova Svitlana Pasichna; an art ceramist, a
pottery teacher at an American secondary school Nataliia Kormeliuk.
2.1. The studies at the ACADEMY are open to everybody* aged 18 or more, regardless of age, gender,
nationality, professional education, who are interested in the mystery of ancient pottery and cannot
communicate with potters on the daily basis at their places of living. The total number of participants is
no more than 10 persons.
* Apart from the inhabitants of Opishne and neighbouring villages who have possibilities to learn pottery
thoughout the year, including the Vasyl Krychevsky State Specialized Art Boarding School The College
of the Arts in Opishne, and to take part in International youth pottery festivals taking place yearly in the
College of Arts in Opishne.
3.1. The Management makes an agreement (a contract) with every Academy participant. The contract lays
down the mutual obligations for the period of June 11 – July 1, 2018.
3.2. The Management provides the participants with :
• work places at temporary art workshops;
• raw materials (clay, chamotte mass, chamotte, engobes, fabric, polyethylene film, etc.);
• instruments (ébauchoirs, brushes, spray bulbs, knifes, etc.);
• equipment (potter wheels, tournettes, etc.);
• kilns and muffle furnaces;
• practical and theoretical lessons under the supervision of leading Ukrainian potters and art ceramists,
art critics, ceramologists;
• access to powerful library, archive, material, and audiovisual resources of the Museum, including the
acquaintance with expositions of the National Museum of the Ukrainian Pottery in Opishne, the
Memorial Museum of Oleksandra Seliuchenko, a Potteress, the Memorial Museum of the Pottery
Family of the Poshyvailos, the Memorial Museum of Leonid Smorzh, a Philosopher and an Opishne
Ceramics Collector, the Museum of the Artistic Family of the Krychevskys;
• master classes of leading Ukrainian and foreign ceramic artists;
• interesting and rich pastime.
3.3. Board.
The participants can eat at their own expense at the following catering services of Opishne:

3.4. Accommodation.
The Management does not provide accommodation for the participants. They can find high quality,
comfortable temporary accommodation in the private sector of Opishne. The Management can provide
assistance, if such need arises.
3.5. Medical service.

3.6. Transportation.
Transportation to Opishne and back is covered by the ACADEMY participants on their own account.
3.7. After completing the Academy, the participants receive study certificates. Hereinafter, if such need
arises, the Management provides needed consultation in organizing their own production of ceramics
for the graduates and involves them in the next pottery events in Opishne, including art exhibitions.
3.8. The participants of the Academy take the responsibility:
• to obey moral rules and rules of civilized conduct determined by the Management at the territory of the
Museum;
• to respect the museum exhibits and equipment, instruments, materials temporarily issued for academic
and practical work.
