CHAPTER III

METHODOLOGY

In this chapter includes the research design, respondents sampling, research locale,

research instrument, and data collection and analysis. The information gathered by the researcher

will analyze and interpreted.

Research the design

This study used a qualitative research for collection and analysing the data for statistical

analysis. (Mccombes, 2019) Descriptive research gives accurately and systematically information

to describe situation, population and phenomena. That can be answer the what, where, when, and

how but not why. The data that will be gathered will analyze and interpreted to get the outcome

of the study.

The researcher will use a descriptive research survey questionnaire for gathering

information from the respondents to show the demographic profile of respondents in terms of:

Age, Gender, Civil Status, Professional Examination passed, Present occupation Status of

Employment, First job after graduation. The reason for unemployment of the graduates , the law

enforcement agency they applied and the reason of failing of application and last the relevance of

skills on the employability of criminology graduates.

The respondent will be the batch 2017 of Laguna State Polytechnic University – Lopez Satellite

Campus which 41 graduate. The researcher choose first batch of 2017 Alumni to know their status and

to maintain the communication within the university.

This study will use purposive sampling is non-probability method. According to (tongco, 2007)

the purposive sampling is type of non-probability sampling that most effective when one need to study

a certain cultural domain with knowledgeable expert within. The inherent bias of the methods
contributes efficiency. These studies choose a respondent specifically the graduates of batch 2017 only.

The researcher believes that given sample of respondents can give the information needed for the study.

Research Locale

This study research will conduct a questionnaire – survey to the graduates from Laguna

State Polytechnic University – Lopez Satellite Campus located at Brgy. Hondagua Lopez,

Quezon, one of the public universities in Lopez, Quezon. Lopez, Quezon is a progressive and one

of first class municipalities in Fourth Congressional of Quezon, it has 88 brgys. The respondent

was graduated in LSPU – LSC.

only check to the given answer to the following question.

messenger, or text to be able to reach the respondents. The researcher was following the

procedure for more efficient collection of the data.

1. The researcher creates a request letter for the list of BS criminology batch 2017.
2. The researcher will contacting the respondents through their classmate or friends and also

in social media such as facebook, messenger, or text.

3. A letter for the respondent formal conducting the survey questionnaire.

4. The data collected will be confidential within the researcher and respondents.

The frequency of the response will be determined the number of the respondents on the

particular item by using formula of percentage.

F x 100
p
N

Where:

P = Percentage

F = Frequency

N = Total Number of Respondent
