STATEMENT OF PURPOSE (OBJECTIVE/AIM)

“Everyone is a genius, but if you judge a fish on its ability to climb a tree,
it’ll live its whole life believing that it is stupid.” – Albert Einstein.
Albert Einstein was one of the greatest scientists to be ever known. There
are discoveries made by him such as the theory of relativity, which is
known worldwide. According to Einstein, the knowledge acquired in
schools and colleges is not education. He believed that if someone has
interest in some other activities, other than traditional subjects, then
they should try to explore and pursue it. For Einstein, the explanation was
much more important than the answer itself.
Once, Einstein’s teacher reported his parents that he has lingering
distaste of authority and late developing speech. This created an
impression on him that he would not be able to communicate properly
with other people and he started suffering from psychological disorders
as a child. These problems that Albert Einstein had to face are same
problems being faced by today’s generation of students as well.
Now, the question arises- Is the Education system in India able to bring
out the true potential of its students? Through our project we would like
to reflect Albert Einstein’s view of education system as well as talk about
psychological disorders students have to face today. We will also be
looking at the opinions of students, parents and grown-ups through a
survey.

OUR AIM/OBJECTIVE:
- To critically analyse and understand Albert Einstein's view on
the education system.
- To delve deeper into the psychological disorders today’s
students, face and how it curbs their true potential.

Group Reflection: What did we learn?

Through this project, we were able to understand Albert
Einstein’s definition of education and the dissimilarity of mindset
between the generation X and generation Z people on
‘education’.
We also tried to explore several psychological disorders students
face in today’s world, how it curbs their knowledge and ability to
learn and what the people around them can do to assist them
with the hardships they face.
Working on this project was very productive as we were able to
delve deeper and tried to understand different opinions and
different perceptions of the education system today in India. The
survey was a successful attempt in justifying Albert Einstein’s
view about the knowledge acquired in school and colleges which
according to him was not education.
We realized, that there is still room for improvement in the
education system, especially in the countryside where a lot of
students are not able to get proper education and several other
opportunities. It is well said that if a nation’s countryside is
educated then they are truly a developed country.

‘EINSTOMANIA’ SURVEY- OUTPUT LETTER

(200 words)
Most of the respondents agreed that they have seen
deterioration in the education system in India in the past few
years, and they believe that the main cause of this is peer
pressure and lack of practicality. The respondents also agreed
with the fact that today's education system lays emphasis on
cramming everything and scoring grades, irrespective of the all-
round development of the child. Albert Einstein also supported
the idea of understanding things rather than just learning them
for the sake of exam.
Most of the respondents believe that psychological disorders
such as ADHD and Dyslexia are not a disease of physical ailment
and bullying or commenting on them further aggravates the
problem due to which the child loses confidence as well as
interest in learning. They commented that the students with
disorders should be treated equally and efforts should be made
to create awareness about these disorders.
Most of the respondents have a common opinion about the
syllabus that, it is outdated and has not been upgraded as per
today’s requirement. Many other respondents thought that to
curb the increasing problem connected with psychological
disorders among teenagers, workshops and seminars should be
conducted to create awareness among parents and school staff.
When asked about opinions on the Indian education system
most respondents wanted creativity-based subjects to be more
appreciated and be equally valued as theory-based subjects.
