-The system would need access first to
the user's location or commonly
known as Global Positioning System
(GPS). Also, the application would
need knowledge or data on the
different companies' bus routes.
Lastly, the application will be in
coordination with the Department of
Transportation (DOTr) to have
smoother and safer transportation
operations.
How can this app help the
commuters?
-This app would help the commuters
in a way that it offers different bus
lines for the purpose of convenience.
Moreover, it lessens the waiting time
of the user as it shows the estimated
time for the bus to arrive at the user's
location. You can also reserve seats.

City?
- For the first few months, the
app will just be launched in the
whole island of Cebu. This is for
testing. The app will soon be
launched in the entire country
after the testing and other
configuration completed.
In terms of the long run process,
will the app still be available
after this pandemic?
- Well, definitely this app will still
be available after the pandemic
with major changes in the bus
routes since bus companies will
surely go back to their original
routes once the pandemic is
over.
Does the app data consumption
friendly? How much data it
consume?
- The Ruta app is data
consumption friendly. One
transaction will only consume
approximately at most 20mb.

-As of the moment, RUTA is the
only application for bus routes in
the whole island of Cebu. RUTA
competes with its uniqueness.
Aside from being the only
application for buses, this offers
features that are for the
convenience of the bus
commuters and will encourage
others to take the buses as well.
This will give the commuters
options and will also provide
information that can help in
commuting.
Is the interface design appealing
to the users?
-It is appealing because the use of
a design that is attractive to the
eyes of the people especially the
coloring will be prioritized. Also, it
will be made sure that it is not
painful to the eyes when looking
at it especially in a dark area
where the color matters. Also, the
design will be made easy to
understand and easy to use so
when the elderly use the app, they
will understand it easily.

-In order to control and maintain
the app's efficiency and
effectiveness, an in-house expert

monitoring of the application will
be hired.
