Position Overview:
NIHB HITECH REC program is looking for a data entry person to effectively process data for the
benefit of the NIHB REC. They need to have good keyboard speed and the ability to interpret
information quickly and correctly. The data entry clerk will be responsible for entering provider
and facility data into the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) database and collaborate with
the NIHB CRM lead. As a part of the NIHB HITECH REC team the data entry clerk will create reports,
provide weekly updates, and interact with Indian Health Service (IHS)/Tribal/Urban health
facilities to obtain accurate and timely data.

This position is based in Washington, DC.

Essential Functions:
 Assists the CRM lead to compile statistics and reports on a weekly basis
 Process incoming provider agreement forms
 Provide general clerical assistance to support professional staffing at NIHB
 Process large amounts of information from the providers from a variety of computer
programs such as MS Word, Adobe PDF, and MS Excel
 Verify correct data and delete unnecessary data before entering into the CRM and to ensure
there are no duplicate entries
 Have a working knowledge about Health Information Technology (IT) a plus
 Enter specific Health IT information and attention to detail to ensure accurate information
is captured
 Enters customer data in to a the CRM database by inputting alphabetic and numeric
information on keyboard
 Secures information by completing data base backups
 Maintains operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes
 Protects operations by keeping information confidential
 Other duties as assigned
Minimum Job Requirements:
Education:
 At least one year undergraduate education

Experience:
 Demonstrated knowledge of data keying principles and practices
 Knowledge of Health IT
 Knowledge of CRM salesforce application
 Knowledge in MS Office Suite, especially MS Access and Outlook
 Knowledge of electronic health records
 Demonstrated skill in organizing, maintaining e-files management and data record keeping
 Demonstrated experience with multi-line phone system
 Ability to use tact and diplomacy with all sensitive issues and special situations
 Ability to work with various health officials and tribal leaders
 Excellent written and oral communication skills
 Highly organized, detail oriented and proven ability to meet deadlines
 Computer and internet savvy
 Organized, skilled in typing and data entry, attentive to details, understands confidentiality
and decision making, able to work independently, analyze information, results driven, high
energy level

Specialized knowledge, licenses, etc.


 Must have a valid state driver’s license.

Supervisory Responsibility, if any:


 None

Working Conditions:
 Work in an office environment and structure with both workstations and offices.
 Sit for long periods of time and use a personal computer.
 Retrieve documents from book shelves, file cabinets, etc.
 Work under pressure and deadlines within short time frames.
 Work after hours, as needed.
