QUESTIONS:

Topic: THE STATE (functions and goals of state)

1. Choose 4 out of the 8 functions of the state. For each function that you choose, identify and
briefly describe the initiatives/programs/actions of the government that depict/show how this
current administration realize or carry them out.  (40 points)

Political Communication –

It is conveyed by media, news, politician speech and even talk of citizens about the politics.

Policy Making -

It is made by leaders like presidents, senator, mayors and even a leader of a small organization.

Policy Implementation –

Government officials, laws and even individuals, can carry out implementation.

Policy Adjudication- like how people have determination and for individual rights or duties.

2. How do you think the administration of President Duterte realizes each goal of the state?
During global crisis and pandemic, which among the goals of the state should be prioritized?
Substantiate your answer. (30 points)

The goal we should prioritize in this pandemic is PROSPERITY, governments must bear
responsibilities for reducing financial risk. Because the loss of money as a result of quarantines
and unemployment worsen family hardships.

Topic: GOVERNMENT AND GOVERNANCE

A. Please watch the 5 videos on the forms of government.


B. Answer the following questions:
3. Is there a need for our country to change its current forms of government? If yes, what are the
forms of government that Philippines should adopt/change? Why do you think your proposed
forms of governments would be beneficial to the Philippine State?

If you answer no, why do think there is no need to change the current forms of government?(40
points)

4. What is the relationship between globalization and the form/s of government the State adopts?

5. The UNDP identifies 5 indicators of good governance, how do you think this current
administration fare in each of those indicators in its response to covid19 global pandemic? Rate
this government using the scale 1 to 10 (10 being the highest and 1 as the lowest) and justify
your rating in each indicator of good governance. (40 points)
