Warmer Students will play “Simon Says”, a fun activity
Time: (3-5 minutes) for students enabling discipline and listening
skills imperative for the activity in hand,
instructions will be given out with the prefix
“Simon says” which enables students to
listen and follow the game. (ex – “Simon
says, hop like a rabbit”, “Simon says moo like
a cow”)
Context setting or Pre – speaking Students will be shown a video which shows
(8-10 minutes) different festivals of India and after the
session student will be asked one by one
about the topic of the activity, students will
then be given time to think about their
favorite festival and will be given A4 size
sheets to describe their favorite festival.

Actual content The class will get 15 minutes to prepare 2
(35 minutes) paragraphs on their respective festival on the
A4 size paper, the students have to write
about what makes their festival so special to
them, when and why is it celebrated, etc.
post which each student will READ out their
respective papers in front of the class, (est.
time per student – 2 minutes), this activity
will enable students to WRITE, which will also
improve their vocabulary, READ what they’ve
written, SPEAK what they’ve written and
LISTEN to other students while they speak
about their favorite festivals.
Recapitulation/Post speaking Students will form a circle and play the
(time: 10 mins) “jumping game” where students will Jump on
their turn and with each jump say one
adjective about their festival – Ex , one
student jumps in the circle and says
“beautiful”. “calming”. “picturesque”. Etc.
Each student has to describe their festival
with one jump per turn and there will be 3
rounds to sum up this activity.
Home Study Plan (Homework) Students will be instructed to write an essay
on their favorite tourist destination for the
next class and speak on the same.
