METHOD FOR WAFFLE WALL ERRECTION

1.0 Purpose :-
To identify the requirements for carrying out errection for waffle wall.

2.0 Principles :-
The principle of this document is to ensure that waffle wall erecting is
carried out as per project technical specification, special requirements
/conditions, IS code provisions, BOQ etc. in the order of precedence as
mentioned in the contract document.

3.0 References: -
GFC Drawing and Technical Specifications.

4.0 Materials Required: -

ISMC, ISA, Welding Machine, welding rod, Crane, Lifting Clamp as per
specification, Steel cutting machines, Runner, MS steel shims different
thickness, Primer, Paints, hand gloves, etc.

5.0 Erection of Wall: -

a. Find of clearance from PEB vendor waffle wall erecting.
b. ISMC channel check out size and primer coating before fixing.
c. Channel Run as per require level and line.
d. Panels to be shifted from stack yard, check for any damage
crack in panel. Care shall be taken during shifting & handling of
panel.
e. Check whether all the relevant latest GFC drawing are available
f. All required tools & machinery shall be check for working condition.
g. Plinth beam shall be check for erection of panel.
h. Panel shall be aligned as per drawing. Check the verticality, level of
panel as per drawing.

i. Panel shall be fixed with plinth beam by making the holes both side
and put in hole 16mm diameter of Plane bar both side length 150+-
10mm.
j. Two panels between joint put in 12mm diameter threaded bolt 200mm
length with washer and tighting after fill Cement Mortar (1:1) ratio.
k. Angle of (75x75x6) mm to be weld with inserts of panel and structural
channel section for fixing of panel Cutting length will be maintaining
as per require concrete embedded insert plate size over 10mm both
size.
L. GP-2 to be grout after panel fixing between beam top & bottom of
Panel. Curing to be carried out for 7 days.
M. Both panel Gaps between panel shall be filled with backer rod and
sealant.
N. Errection work Complete after approved Paint Brand and Colour Code
painting to be complete both side.
6.0 Documents to be maintained: -
a. Checklists as per AIL QC system.
b. Structural Steel MTC Submitted to the client

8.0 EHS

 Soil/edge of excavation protection safety measures need to be done with

safety net and ensure clear and safe access to work location.
 Follow work permit system Vehicular movement will be strictly restricted to
approved logistic plan.
 Safety sign / Warning sign boards will be provided around the work area.
 PPE will be ensured for all site personnel.
 Scaffolding for working platform will be provided with hand rails at mid height
to prevent fall.
 All diagonal and horizontal staging pipes will be connected to vertical staging
pipes.
 Proper hand rail and hard barricades will be provided around the work area
and in the area of vehicular movement respectively.
 Plant and equipment to be fully licensed and regularly serviced and inspected
prior to use.
