SCOPE OF WORK
The object of this Method statement is to lay down the systematic procedure and technical
specifications for FORM WORK STEEL & CONCRETE

PURPOSE
Partition/ Retaining wall is built to transfer the structure loads to footing/raft foundation
and withstand soil pressures. In this case, it takes the load of the compacted fill/plum
concrete in the basement level. Partition walls are constructed in basement levels to serve
as divider between water tanks. This wall will be constructed providing double sided
formwork system. Columns/ C. Walls is built to transfer the structure loads to footing/raft
foundation.

STAFF RESPONSIBLE:
 Site engineer in charge for area will be responsible for the work implementation at
site as per Method statement (M.S.)
 Safety Engineer will assist Site engineer for the compliance of safe working
methods. . He will assess the hazards in the workplace and formulate remedial
actions to eliminate, contain or reduce them.
 QC Engineer is responsible for monitoring and surveillance of daily construction
activities to ensure that the execution of works are properly implemented in

compliance with latest revisions of the approved drawings and specification

requirements
 Supervisor will monitor housekeeping workers so that they keep the work area free
of unwanted materials and unattended tools. He will ensure housekeeping principles
are being implemented
 Surveyor will be responsible for the benchmark and setting of points, including exact
elevations in accordance with the approved drawing reference documents .

WORK METHODOLOGY:

Preparatory works-
 Limit and location points of center and edges of wall will be established by surveyor
with reference with the GFC drawing.
 Approval of concrete mix design with results shall be taken for necessary grade of
concrete (M10, M-15, M20, M25, M30).
 Submit the BBS for Reinforcement steel & get the approval from PMC.
 Submission of construction joint, etc. & get approved.
 Test results for reinforcement steel shall be submitted prior to use at site.
 Typical Shuttering scheme.
 MTC/Third party Test results for cover blocks, binding shall be submitted.
 Quality equipment like slump cone, cube moulds, thermometer etc. on site with
calibration report.

Reinforcement work-
 Work surface area should be cleaned prior to start of work. Any loose material, dust
shall be cleaned with water jet and air pressure as required.
 Surveying & Marking shall be done for the setting out of the structural member.
 Rebar will be cut & bent as per approved BBS.
 Reinforcement for retaining wall will be tied from the footing below at the location
as per approved drawing up to each lift. Lap bar will be provided if laps zone persist
in the concrete level.
 Cover blocks of 40mm & 50mm (Extra 10mm cover in contact in earth) size of
concrete cover/PVC as that of wall will be placed at sides of the reinforcement to
ensure proper cover to the reinforcement. Extra cover will be maintained by
increased size of element Reinforcement size will remain same as per drawing. This is
to follow upto plinth level.
 Stirrups will be continuously rigidly tied with the main bars. Binding wire will be tied
such that folded wire should be pressed inside of the cage to avoid getting less
cover.
 Location, spacing, verticality and cover will be checked during the installation
process and QC and client will make a final inspection prior to formwork installation.

Fixing of formwork-
 Obtain relevant approved construction drawings from client / client’s
representatives.
 Set out the locations, centre lines and levels for formwork along with reference lines.
 Prepare necessary and formwork panels to the required dimensions and sizes as per
scheme drawings. (Attached.)
 Apply release agent on formwork surface evenly and thinly agent like form oil.
Release agent specification and MSDS etc.
 Erect the formwork as per shuttering scheme by providing sufficient props and struts
including necessary bracing.
 Use scaffolding and staging arrangements, where as necessary as per approved
Scaffolding scheme drawing.
 Seal gaps in formwork to avoid leakage of grout, concrete, cement slurry (use form
whenever required)
 Ensure checking for the required shape and dimensions as per VFC drawings.
 Refer attached shuttering scheme drawing for formwork arrangement for Raft.
 Ensure for the construction joints provided as per approved scheme.
 Working platforms of required height will be provided.
 Fixing of formwork members will be done from the working platforms.
 Top of concrete (T.O.C) level shall be marked at required interval.

 Ensure the water-stop tie rods will be inserted for the retaining wall into the form
panels.
 Tie rod bolts will be fastened to secure the arrangement.

Concreting-
 Concrete will be brought to locations in transit mixers by the approved RMC.
 Check the concrete at the check point Take concrete cube samples for quantity
specified as per ITP Plan.
 Provide adequate equipment, machinery and manpower to carry out the concreting
works.
 Place concrete on required locations as planned using concrete pumps and / or crane
assisted concrete buckets. Ensure free fall of concrete not more than 1.5 mtr.
 If concreting is to commence from a construction joint, roughen the joint before
placing the concrete to get a mechanical key. Surface should be thoroughly
scrubbed.
 Cement slurry should be poured on the construction joints before applying green
concrete. Approved bonding agent to be used
 Compact concrete by mechanical vibrators of appropriate sizes. Ensure that concrete
is worked into the corners of the structural member’s/power float on the top of
concrete.
 Make the rough on the surface for the vertical construction joints for the bonding
the old & new concrete.
 Vibration needle will be inserted intermediately in the location as indicated and
necessary vibration is provided.
 Concrete shall be poured to the desired height by repeating the above steps. Stopper
will be used within formwork to create vertical construction joints. Vertical joint /
stopper to be placed as approved by structural consultant CIL has to submit pour
plan for plinth beam for approval.
 No horizontal joints allowed in beam.
 The concrete will be placed as per pouring rate, but not faster than it can be properly
consolidated and finished.

De-shuttering-
 Stripping time for the formwork will be a minimum of 24 hrs.
 Alignment props shall be removed, tie rods will be unscrewed, and form panels shall
be removed to expose the casted wall.
 Deshuttering material not be stack on walk way/access. Ensure removal of
protruded and haphazardly laid nails.
 Top most panels with the tie rod shall be left in place for the next pour.

 Post-pour inspection shall be done after deshuttering, If have any defects kindly
repaired it as per approved repaired method statement. deshuttering duration to be
mentioned for plinth beam.
Curing-
 Exposed concrete surfaces, will in general be covered immediately with hessian cloth
sprinkled it water.
 Water curing shall be done further for next 14 days for blended cement as per
approved PQP.
 Date & structural identification shall be mention on the structure.

HSE -
 Soil/edge of excavation protection safety measures need to be done with safety net and
ensure clear and safe access to work location.
 Provision of platform to route concrete pipe line on height.
 Follow work permit systemVehicular movement will be strictly restricted to approved
logistic plan.
 Safety sign / Warning sign boards will be provided around the work area.
 PPE will be ensured for all site personnel.
 Scaffolding for working platform will be provided with hand rails at mid height to
prevent fall.
 Working platform area will be kept clear of loose pies, loose clamps or unwanted
material or tools.
 All diagonal and horizontal staging pipes will be connected to vertical staging pipes.
 Proper hand rail and hard barricades will be provided around the work area and in
the area of vehicular movement respectively.
 Staging shall be checked by the competent person & Tag should be display on
scaffolding.
 Entry to the basement level will be restricted to the access stairs as indicated in the
logistic plan.
 Plant and equipment to be fully licensed and regularly serviced and inspected prior
to use.
 Fire extinguishers will be provided, located in visible locations and maintained on a
regular basis.
