1.0 Scope

Providing pre-constructional Anti-termite treatment by treating bottom surface and sides of

excavation, back fill in immediate contact with foundation, top surface of plinth filling (at the
rate of 5 litres of an emulsion concentrate of 1.0 percent of Chlorpyrifos. 20EC or equivalent
approved chemical per square metre of surface area), Treatment to the soil along with
external perimeter of the building by punching holes of 12 to 15 mm diameter about 300 to
600 mm deep at 150 mm centre to centre as close to the wall as possible and inject 1.0%
Chloropyrifos at the rate of 7.5 Lt emulsion concentrate per sqm and sealing the same with
proper filling etc. complete through approved manufacturers with 10 years guarantee bond
and as per specifications complete as per IS 6313 part II. MOM: Plinth Area.

5.0 STAFF RESPONSIBLE:

 Site engineer in charge for area will be responsible for the work implementation at
site as per Method statement (M.S.)
 Safety Engineer will assist Site engineer for the compliance of safe working methods.
. He will assess the hazards in the workplace and formulate remedial actions to
eliminate, contain or reduce them.
 QC Engineer is responsible for monitoring and surveillance of daily construction
activities to ensure that the execution of works are properly implemented in
compliance with latest revisions of the approved drawings and specification
requirements
 Supervisor will monitor housekeeping workers so that they keep the work area free of
unwanted materials and unattended tools. He will ensure housekeeping principles are
being implemented

6.1 Treatment to soil above raft

1. Before laying the rubble soiling and PCC, the compacted and leveled soil will be treated
at 5 Ltr l/sqm using a garden watering can with spray head.
2. Application of chemical should always be in the form of drops and not mist.

6.2 Treatment along retaining wall

1. The soil retained by the wall will be treated at rate of 7.5 Ltr l/sqm of the vertical surface
so as to affect a continuous outer chemical barrier.
2. The treatment shall follow backfilling as backfilling is done on layers of 300 mm but not
to exceed a depth of 1 m.
3. Rodding will be carried out to a depth of 300 mm. the rods will be moved backward and
forward parallel to the wall to break up the earth and chemical poured along the wall to
facilitate the treatment.
4. After the treatment, the earth will be tamped back into place.

6.3 Treatment along External Perimeter of Building

1. After the building is complete, the earth along the external perimeter of the building will
be rodded at intervals of 150 mm and to a depth of 300 mm, as close to the building as
possible.
2. The rods will be moved backward and forward parallel to the wall to break up the earth
and chemical poured along the wall at the vertical surface.
3. After the treatment, the earth will be tamped back into place. Should the earth outside the
building be graded on completion of building, this treatment will be carried out on
completion of such grading.
