ROTES:

• Exceptional Luck — Jixiang uses her knowledge of I-ching and astrology to align herself to be as auspicious
and flowing with the natural pathways of motion and action in the world as possible. This is a rote that
uses the Occult skill as its mudra.
• Warding Gesture — Pacing the eight trigrams, Jixiang allows baleful magic and effects to wrap around her
and pass over her, becoming a dragon-emperor with enhanced dominion over their own magic, their fate
unassailable to outside influence from the eight directions. This is a rote that uses the Occult skill as its
mudra.
• Words of Truth — Jixiang channels her ability and station in the proper world order, briefly disrupted by
the Ten Usurping Iron Ministers, and speaks with the entirety of the gravitas and weight allowed her by
her position as one of the Wise. This is a rote that uses the Occult skill as its mudra.

PRAXES

• As Above, So Below — the celestial spheres above, their graceful interplay of effect coming from effect
and cause engendering cause, are a quick and powerful shorthand for the profusion of auspicious
beneficence that the storehouses of heaven have in store for man. Heaven brings forth innumerable
things to nurture man, and Prime allows Jixiang to lay claim to the barest glimmer of this, making her
magic more powerful.

GEAR, BELONGINGS

A motorbike, a smartphone, clothes, the ID card, a small amount of spare cash, a laptop.

(staff). She has dedicated the staff as her special magical tool.

BACKSTORY AND BACKGROUND

Jixiang is an up-and-coming lictor of the Silver Ladder. Her Mystery Play coincided with a major
astrological occurrence, which she and her family were preparing for, until on the eve of it, her family home burnt
down to ashes, taking some of her extended family with it. She grew obsessed with learning why did such a
disaster strike so close to a point where one would expect the local maximum of luck.

This discrepancy made her obsessed with finding out why did such an injustice stand before the celestial
court. This obsession drove her onwards, until she walked through the thorny silver gates of the Jade Court to
confront the divine ministers and the Yama kings, and found the Jade Court in disarray, pretenders holding those
in charge of luck and prosperity to the sword.

Coming to her senses, Jixiang found a new fervor and understanding to herself, that the proper order of
cause and effect was afflicted, and the proper execution of the mechanisms of Fate impeded by those who seek to
subvert it for their own gain. And so, she decided that it will not stand, and started working to counteract it.

She has no illusions about her overall contribution to the cause, but her romantic and zealous nature
drives her onwards all the same. Even if she moves the celestial mechanisms just this little grain more, and crushes
just one more speck of dust clogging up the divine machinery, she would be content.

Even though her personal ethos was a natural entrance point to the Ladder, her initial mentorship was
performed under the local Guardian before they were promoted to Interfector and shipped off to a different
Caucus, due to a severe lack of available mentors. Her Mentor impressed a psychographic profile on her that
would allow her to deal with the basic indignities of her position and chosen course of action before she moved on
to be taught by a passing lictor, moving to a road life with himAfter about a year learning the intricacies of the Lex
in practice, on the road, her Mentor deemed her qualified to strike out on her own without his direct support, and
so she did, sent by her order into a known supernatural hotspot to see what is to be done there and if the Lex is
being executed properly.

And so, she arrives to the gates of the school.
