 WHO AM I ?

Hello,

My name is Marie WADE, I am 27 years old, living in Senegal. I

am a Digital Communications Specialist and writer. Before
writing, I was and still am a passionate reader.

This love for books and words has followed me into the
professional world. To date, I've written nearly a hundred
blog posts for myself and for brands ; packed text for websites
; participated in magazine writing ; done studies on various
topics (Management, Digital Marketing, Public Sector, etc.) for
myself and for companies I've worked for ; written a lot of
messages for social media posts, newsletters, campaigns and
activations ; among others.

I am also the author of two books ''le cri du vieux muet'' and
''le bonheur d'être triste''. I had two distinctions in this
framework ''Laureate Edit-A-Thon "Decolonize Internet"
2020'' and ''Laureate of the 8th edition of the book fair of the
Saussaye (poetry category)''.

Currently I am doing the exercise of centralizing all my

writings online on my website www.mariewade.com.

 COVER LETTER TO PARTICIPATE IN
THE INTERNATIONAL WRITING
PROGRAM (IWP)

Maybe I would have been someone else if I hadn't had all these
books since I was little. From my father's library, which I still
haven't finished, to the library at the French Cultural Center in
Dakar, I have an unconditional love for books.

My journey as an author began with the publication of my first

book in 2016. In doing this document, I am more aware of all the
things I have done one by one and that without me paying
attention, count a lot in this experience I live and that is being a
writer.

I write because I have read a lot, I write because I love words, I

write because so many writers have made me dream that in my
turn, I must not let the ink dry...

Can you believe it ? Often, overwhelmed by the daily grind,

between my work, my studies and my dreams as a young woman, I
forget that I can write.

In these times, I try to do activities that allow me to change my

mind, to recharge my batteries, to talk to other artists, to find
inspiration for my writing. I need that right now.

I am more than excited about your program which would allow me

to learn more about English literature, other forms of art, creative
writing, and to share my work with others as well.

Why would I want to participate in the IWP ? To give myself the

time to write in another setting on the other side of the world. To
see if my imagination will be even more stimulated by another
environment that will certainly inspire me a lot. To meet new
people, discover new things and learn from others.

Being surrounded by people who love books and literature as much

as I do will have a real impact on my current writing project ''Free
in my madness''.
