GATHERING TO CELEBRATE
UEF’S ANNIVERSARY

Every year, all UEF Faculty members and staff gather to organize the annual birthday
celebration on September 24. This year, UEF’s 14th founding anniversary was much more
special.

The ongoing COVID-19 pandemic forced the University to shift the event from an in-person
activity to an online one. Still, the closeness, warmth, and emotional atmosphere remained.
UEF members who carried out the “3 in one spot" policy
(work, eat, and rest in one location) celebrated UEF’s 14th founding anniversary

establishment and development, UEF
members have always inherited good
values and pursued high-quality
education following international
standards. UEF is now a bilingual and

development is compatible with the
demanding society. Over the past 14
years, UEF has not only had an
increasing number of students, more

always come with opportunities. I wish UEF members good health, innova-

world-class education.”

The current success results from the great contributions of UEF members. At UEF – our second
home, each member continuously makes consistent and wholehearted efforts at UEF's
development. For the first time in our history, teaching methodology, management, and

completed their tasks with dedication.

Communication, represented UEF faculties and staff to share her feelings on this special day:

"Being part of UEF's continued growth is

an advantage despite the 4-month

location for the past few months. A
special thank you to the Board of
Management for all the guides and
instructions during those hard times. I

Gen Z students advantageously address

challenges thanks to psychologists’ sharings
On September 10, UEF organized a talk show named “Generation Z students
advantageously address challenges in the “New Normal” with the participation of Psy.D.
To Nhi A and Dr. Nhan Cam Tri – Vice President of UEF. The talk show was one of the
events in the student orientation series “Friday, 7 PM - Vitamins For Student Life". The
program aimed to motivate students to overcome obstacles and be ready for the new
academic year in unfavorable conditions.

As a familiar face to UEFers, Dr. To Nhi A shared adaptive ways to help students
accumulate positive energy before the upcoming academic year.

they can understand themselves and become self-directed in their study.
The second interesting thing she mentioned was “the effect of passengers” and
“drivers”, which means drivers easily remember routes rather than passengers do.
Through this example, Dr. To Nhi A affirmed that students should change for a better
position in time, choose their own path and they should not be affected by objective
factors. In other words, they had better become “a responsible driver”.

Scholarship Maintenance:
A HOW-TO WITH TIPS
FROM PREDECESSORS

As freshmen, students must have known about the UEF scholarship policy. Many
students may receive scholarships (up to 100% of tuition) for the first academic year.
These are considered as awards to recognize their efforts during high school time as
well as generate study motivation in their university life.

Winning scholarships is a great achievement for freshmen on their first days. But,
how can students retain the scholarship for 4 consecutive years and what are
scholarship retention requirements?

In reality, many UEFers are able to

retain their scholarships each year

UEF offers entrance scholarships to first-year university students. In order to retain

scholarships over the years, they must maintain the cumulative GPA required for
each level, along with extracurricular activities at a minimum of 65 training points.

Scholarship retention policy and requirements in 2021 (Academic scholarship information)

Not only are scholarships likely to provide “financial aid” in time, but they are also
motivation for UEFers to stay focused on their study, confidently show their strengths, and get
involved in extracurricular activities to develop their soft skills and conquer their dreams.

Chu Thi Van Anh – a valedictorian of Communications Technology on the university entrance
exam, achieved the 100%-tuition scholarship, which gave her great encouragement on the
road ahead.

“I think UEF is an ideal environment for me to make my

dream come true. At UEF, English is the primary language
for learning. The university is fully equipped with
state-of-art facilities. The full-tuition scholarship is an
enormous motivation for me to do my best in my study as
well as a gift for my parents. I hope that it helps them ease the
financial burden somehow.”

Van Anh said.

TIPS

Scholarships are great motivations for

students to strive forward in their studies

“Scholarship policy supported me and other students by alleviating the

stress of paying for university, focusing more on our study and actively
taking part in extracurricular activities.”, said Pham Van Thinh – a junior
of International Business, who used to receive the full-tuition scholarship.

42
In terms of retaining the scholarship, Pham Thi Quynh Thi – a graduate
of Business Administration, said: “In order to retain the scholarship
during my university life, I strived to enhance knowledge of each subject
and read more books to widen my horizons. In the meantime, I also
tried to figure out the most suitable learning method for myself.”

Dang Ngoc Minh Thu – a senior of Public Relations

received a full-tuition scholarship, shared her tips to retain it:

“Make a complete study plan with specific goals in each

academic year, for instance, participation in extracurricular
activities, academic competitions, and achievements. Actively
interact with lecturers in class, focus on intelligibility, and ask
questions. Reinforce self-education, reading skills, search for
suggested books by lectures, and spend 2 hours a day
practicing for the IELTS exam. Arrange a reasonable
timetable to ensure professional knowledge and improve
necessary skills with less pressure.”

In short, scholarships give students motivation by helping them reduce tuition fees and
pursue high-demand courses at UEF. Besides those favorable scholarship retention
requirements, all students have equal opportunities and capabilities to earn scholarships
at UEF.
